extreme lag in counter strike source

i downloaded counter strike source from piratebay and ikm running it on vista and whenever i join a game, even with a low ping, it is extremely laggy. how do i fix this?

can u tell us about your computer specification ? how about the ram ? Gcard ?

RAM: 3 GB

System type: 32-bit operating system

Windows edition: Windows Vista service pack 1

Why don't you Update to SP 2?

i updated to SP2 and there is still mad lag

Then I don't know what the problem is. Try to close all background programs. Does it make any difference?

is u download from games4theworld uploader or ? other ?

i downloaded from thepiratebay.com it was a torrent
