Catacombs ? Empty Catacombs ?

Is there some form of special prize or reward for successfully exploring those catacombs in The Sims 3, that are inside the cemetaries ? Depending on how long you "hold on", down there, you can receive items such as books or even rare plant seeds. But at some point - sometimes earlier, sometimes sooner - my sims get burned by a "zombie bear" or something, resulting in a burned appearance and a negative moodlet for several sim hours. Feel free to share your experiences here, and thanks in advance for any tips on this !
