Got Virus from Virtual Villagers download.
I was downloading Virtual Villagers from the official Games4theworld website. I was scanning it with AVG and it found two viruses or something on it. I just thought I should let someone know so they could check it out and fix it or something.

Hello and welcome to the Forum,
I'll keep it short: that was a "false-positive". See the explanation here:
http://whatis.techtarget.com/definition/false-positive
You often have the case that with cracked games, they are being detected by anti-virus software as malicious, while there is no issue whatsoever. You may or may not believe me at this point, and that is that I suppose, but you may also want to think about this here: who exactly is benefitting from the fact that cracked games are being 'destroyed' by anti-virus software?
If you plan on downloading more cracked games/software in the future, you will have to get used to these false alarms I am afraid.

That makes sense. I just knew that I had downloaded a cracked game before on here and didn't get that false positive so I was confused. I am trying to be careful where I get games from so I don't mess up my computer.

Yes. For example, the crack of The Sims 2 for some strange reason gets purged very often, whereas the cracks for The Sims 3 don't. Things can be strange at times, I guess. Was there anything else about Virtual Villagers 2 that you wanted to know?

Not specifically about the virtual villagers but more about what it "detected". The security system detected Win32/heur virus. Is that the only thing it mistakes it as or could my security stuff mistake the cracked games as anything?

Hello,
We often see that cracks are mistaken for trojans. If you're absolutely sure you didn't get an (actual) infection from another source, there's nothing to worry about, at least not from our downloads.

By the way: AVG suck$. I myself use avast, though it may not necessarily be 'the best' (what is the best will greatly depend on the individual user and what exactly the computer/device is also used for) - but avast is still good enough for me.
