Sims 4 Installer won't download

I previously had the Sims 4 game and all of the DLC packs downloaded, and they worked perfectly fine until it crashed one day and did not let me start the game up again. I decided to delete everything and re-download it, but this time, when I install the Sims 4, the installed freezes and I get a pop-up notification saying the administrator is preventing the download. I have gone through the guide and followed the directions to make exceptions for the folders the game will be in, but this pop-up still shows up. This didn't happen to me when I first downloaded the game, and I'm not sure what I've done wrong this time around.

I presume you are talking about the installation of the base game.
Probably there are some remnants of the previous installation on your computer for which adminstration-rights are required to overwrite these.

Start your installation as an Administrator by rightclicking on the startup file.

I tried that, and a pop-up message came up saying that it couldn't find the downloader. I took a screenshot, but it won't let me upload it because it says it exceeds the storage space.

When correctly downloaded and extracted with Winrar, your folder should look like this:

Sims 4 Installer won't download G4twbasegame_orig

Just click on The Sims_4_Setup.exe to start the installation

This is what my folder look like. When I click on the setup, it'll freeze for about 10-15 minutes after I press "Install", and this message will pop-up:

Maybe your Windows installer is not working correctly.
What happens when you click on just Setup ? (In my example setup.msi)
Start as Administrator by rightclicking on it

Eventually rightclick on The Sims 4.rar and extract as an Administrator

It won't give me the option to run as administrator when i right-click, only "Install" or "Uninstall".

Hi there,

Aside from turning off the anti-virus as well as the step Tarac had mentioned, this was written in the microsoft site as well:

Code:: Step 3: a. Click Start, type "Local Security Policy" (without quotes) and press enter. b. Click on Software Restriction Policies. c. In the right pane, double click on the "enforcement". d. Select “All users except local administrators”. e. Click Ok and restart the computer and check if the issue is fixed.

I hope this helps you with the policy error.
