Fufilling Gallery Requests. [SOLVED]
I was just wondering if you had to be a mod or something like that to fulfill gallery requests?

Hello @carolinesimmerxx,
I moved your topic to a more appropriate section. As for the request, no, in theory you don't necessarily have to have a G4TW team member status to fulfill these Gallery item requests. However, and for practical purposes, we prefer these sections to be handled by G4TW Helpers/Moderators (read about it here if you like).
One practical issue is, that these Helpers must be able to edit the list with fulfilled Gallery items, and due to the Forum software, this can only be done by people who have moderating powers in that entire section. Furthermore, a lot of links must be posted in doing this work, and we generally only allow team members to do so.
Back then we allowed a few Forum members to help out, but since there were no other Moderators regularly available at the time, it turned out to be a partial success "only". It doesn't make much sense in my opinion to have such a section operational without the proper organization and mod supervision. I have also explained shortly after we closed the Gallery, that I myself wouldn't be willing anymore to really help supervise such a section. It's become too challenging from an organizational standpoint. People would keep forgetting about or overlooking the request rules. People would request "all gallery items at once". Others would keep requesting items that have already been posted on the list of fulfilled wishes. I think it was a good learning experience for all of us, but still.
Another problem is, that as of more recently EA is releasing these (mostly useless) mini-updates more frequently. You really have to download Gallery items from an Origin basegame, while the cracked game AND the Origin basegame are on the same patch level, and that particular time window is increasingly becoming smaller. Origin has been forcing you to update your games in general when new updates are available. You could only skip updates when the client is in offline mode, but then you can't download Gallery items that way. And if you do update the Origin basegame, the items you download won't be usable anymore in the cracked game, that will henceforth be on a lower patch level.
The 'solution' that we came up with here, while not exactly elegant, is in our opinion the best given the current situation. The aim is to post complete collections of Gallery items in one announcement, and keep the items up-to-date that way.
If you happen to have ideas on how such a Gallery can be "run" more efficiently, we will be glad to listen to your suggestions. But as of right now the Gallery is closed, and most likely will remain so. I'm really sorry.

Re: Fufilling Gallery Requests. [SOLVED]
Thank you for all this info, because I was wondering why no-one was requesting anything. It seems like something that's likely to be abused.
If it helps anyone, I get my gallery items through my legit base game. I clear my library in my legit game, and then I add stuff to my library (items that were made before or with G4TW's patch level).
I exit out of it (no need to save, I use task manager) then I put all the files in my legit tray folder in the G4TW one and open the G4TW game.
If that makes sense, I'm not good at explaining things

No problem at all, and yes, I actually use a similar method as well. Because if you download too much on the Gallery the game will lag. Since I typically play the game in windowed mode only, I can easily minimize the game window, go to the "Tray"-folder, empty it (move it elsewhere), and then I can start downloading other things.
If you are seriously interested in this, I can pass on a message to admin @ ~ Aɳɳ ~ and see what she has to say about the issue. Stay tuned, I suppose, and if you like. We were also preparing a set of revised Gallery rules that would impose strict limitations on how people could request these things (3-5 items max. per person, followed by a cooldown phase of 2 weeks or so before one can request the next 3-5 items, etc.). But it never went into effect since we decided to do away completely with these individual requests.

Yeah, honestly it would give something to do in these forums because I would really like to contribute to this community.

Hello,
@The_gh0stm4n explained it all very well indeed.
I don't think we should open the Gallery again at this point. From our experience, the people managing the section get overwhelmed by the sheer amount of requests and the time it takes for these to be fulfilled.
We've tried adding rules, but we learned that many people don't really bother reading those.
Having said that, we would be happy with any help. If you want to contribute, perhaps you can discuss with my team mate here how you can help preparing these collections he mentions, if that is something you'd like to help out with.

Sorry for the belated reply,
Yes, what we are basically doing here is:
https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t31771-new-update-on-the-ts4-gallery-please-read-14-11-2017
Preparing "item collections", sorted by (popular) Gallery uploaders. If any of you wants to submit complete collections (ALL sims + rooms + lots, complete by the date they were fetched) you can submit these things to me, through e-mail. Click on the green mail button under my profile.

Downloading from Online Gallery
Hi all, I am a new member here. And I created an account just to make a Gallery Request.
I visited the TS4 Gallery page in this forum and found that it was suspended. I understand that managing that page was not easy after reading this thread.
I would like to download a sim from the online gallery. However, it requires me to log into my Origin account (which I don't have) to save it there.
I know that games4theworld no longer handles gallery requests. Therefore, I would like to know how to get it myself.
Thank You.

Hello and welcome to the Forum @K15H3N,
There is no way to download Gallery items yourself, unless you buy a basegame of The Sims 4, on Origin, and download the items through that basegame. These items are then saved under Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Tray.
But we also have this here, in case you did not notice yet:

Good luck!
