I've got busted.

Hello!
So yesterday I got this letter from my wifi company (idk how you can put that) and it said I stole The Sims 3 supernatural(which was weird cause I downloaded of the expansion pack on here and they didn't get caught). I called them and said "oh I never done why does it said that" and they told me that EA contacted them and told me to delete it or take much further action. So I deleted the game and try going back on it, which didn't work. My brother told me that they probably ban me. Which didn't make sense cause out of all people who do the same thing, why me? Im still pretty scared to download any games on here and still don't know that if I redownload the game again you tell me. btw I apologize for my grammar, im multilingual and English is hard when it comes typing or writing.

Note that they cannot see what you have on your hard-drive; you received the letter because your IP-address was kind of detected when downloading this. You would have been just fine if you had just kept the .rar file; then again, these organizations benefit from the fact that the average person's "computer literacy" is rather limited (to some extent "thanks" to underfunded/overwhelmed/outdated public education systems, but that is a different subject matter I suppose). Again, had you kept the .rar file, it wouldn't have mattered as they cannot see what you delete or otherwise do on your hard-drive.

With that being said, if you want to torrent more frequently, it could be an option to invest in a suitable VPN service:

I'm sorry to hear about your predicament, but it is not within our powers to prevent these kinds of things. It is up to the responsibility of the individual user to make the necessary precautions.

Thank you so much, it was my first time getting one of those letters. I'm still scared to download more games on my computer, but I figured just give it a week or two before proceeding and relax a bit on downloading so much

I would still be careful. Just waiting it out won't change the fact that these torrents are being 'monitored'. If you just want to fulfill your Sims "fix", consider using ZLOrigin. Or if you want to torrent more frequently, consider investing in a suitable VPN service.
