Sims 3 Pets : Service Initialization Failed (0x0175d824).[SOLVED]

Hello,

I have looked for an issue to the problem I have been having and keep coming to the same issues.
Last night I decided to download the Sims 3 Pets. After doing so is when the issues started occurring. I then decided after many trial and errors of trying to fix my issue to just uninstall bother the Sims 3 Pets and the base game. Originally my base game was a hard copy but I have since misplaced it and decided to just download a copy. After following the instructions on how to install the games properly then went and applied the Ultimate Fix to them and followed the instructions entirely. I even updated the game with the manual patch. When I went to start the game I got this error: Service Initialization Failed (0x0175d824). I am not exactly sure where I went wrong or If I am just trying to start the game from the wrong place. It would be extremely helpful if someone could help me figure this out. I spent all night trying to figure it out and decided that uninstalling and reinstalling and starting the entire process over would surely fix this issue but it did not.

Sorry about the late reply!
I have the game working now. However, Now once I start playing it crashes when I start to make a family. My laptop just shuts off. My friend had been downloading the same game and hers happens to do the same thing. Is there any way to prevent the game from crashing? Thanks

When I start it I do not get any errors anymore. When I uninstalled everything I got rid of my mods and custom content. Now I do not get any error it just starts and once I get to actually playing the game it just shuts my laptop down. However, it did not have me restart the game after uninstalling it or reinstalling it. By base game version, do you mean has it been updated to the latest version? I downloaded the fix the night before my games finished downloading when I was trying to get it to work the first time before completely uninstalling and downloading the g4tw versions of the base game and sims 3 pets.

When I look at my launcher the play button is not greyed out and the version number seems to be pretty normal. The version number is 10.0.96.014001.

Hover your mouse over the base game's icon in the launcher. What version does it show?

It shows 1.29 something. Is that what it should show?

Yes, that's correct.
Try the following:

1. Go to: (My) Documents\Electronic Arts\
2. You'll see a folder called "The Sims 3".
3. Drag & Drop this folder to your Desktop and remove it from the "Electronic Arts" folder in "Documents".
4. Start the game and see if it makes any difference.

It did help significantly! Unfortunately once I started playing I had not saved the game yet and it stopped working again. Not quite sure why it quit working that time but I have definitely got my game working now. Thanks so much!

Oh, I didn't even have any saved games. I am going to try to play again and hopefully it wont crash this time. Last time it crashed when I went to travel into town but I am not quite sure why it crashed. Thanks so much!
