Sims 2 Running Low On Disk Space Empty Sims 2 Running Low On Disk Space

Post by Guest Wed 03 Apr 2019, 07:43

I downloaded The Sims 2-Origin Ultimate Collection today, however when I followed all the steps(correctly, I'm pretty sure) and tried to open the game, it sent a message that told me that I was running low on disk space while I still had around 100gb. But it allowed me to continue so I pressed okay and when the game opened up, there were no neighborhoods and when I tried to click on the tutorials and when I did that, the entire game crashed. So I decided to check on the documents and there was no folder created to store all the save files, ect. Can someone please explain what I'm doing wrong or if something is wrong and how can I fix it?

Hello and welcome to the Forum,

We could try a few things:

1) I'll assume you actually extracted the contents of the .rar file onto a fresh folder, before starting the installation?

2) Go under C:\Users\(your Windows account name)\AppData\Local\ and look for the "Temp"-folder. Delete the contents of the folder, but not the folder itself. This cleaning routine should be done regularly (however, if you did this in the past or not too long ago already, forego this step).

3) The location where the saves and personal data are located, is Documents\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection. If there is no such location on your end, you could maybe also try switching Windows user accounts. I'm not sure at this point though, if you really have to re-install the game again on a different Windows user. In some (rare?) cases, this has shown to be of help with Sims games in general.

4) Try downloading DirectX version 9.0c; could also help later down the road. Google for it, or...get a direct link here:

Good luck for now, and let us know how it goes!  Yess, aye lieeke!

Hello and thank you, however, sadly, after trying the mentioned solutions, I have not been able to find one that works. Perhaps I will try downloading the other version and see how it goes, hopefully better. But thank you for helping and again, hopefully downloading the other version will be more successful, if not, I will search for help again. As said before, thank you.

Sorry to hear,

May I ask which torrent client you used when downloading this item?

If you'd like to give it a try (again), you could try using a different torrent client than the one you used initially. Or, if you have your torrent still under "seeding" in your torrent client, look for an option named "Force re-check".

If I remember correctly too, there was also a direct download link on the official announcement (GoogleDrive), so that could also be an option. My guess for now would be that something may have gone wrong during the download.

But yes, there is not much else I can say at the moment... WhatDidUJustCallMe?

Very sorry for the late reply. If you're missing the EA GAMES folder in Documents, when installing Double Deluxe did you get a notification from Virus & threat protection saying "unauthorized changes blocked?"
