I need some help

Alright so, I currently have a torrented sims version 1.44.77 with all DLC up to seasons. I have updated my game before but I always run into problems and it ends up taking me like 5 hours every time to get it to work, I don't know why, at one point I just reinstalled the entire game with all DLC because I accidentally missed an update once. So I tried updating to 1.44.83 as I believe thats the next highest update, and I was unsuccessful, the application that came with the update torrent said the hash files weren't matching up or whatever (which i know is a common problem that happens when you miss an update). So, since I couldn't find any updates between there, I just started trying to add "get famous" onto my sims game, using the guide posted on this forum. I copied all the files over and replaced all the replicas and yet when I opened my game nothing had changed. I want to get my game up to island living but every time I try and update my sims I always run into problems like this, and I never understand what's wrong. If anyone could help me that would be great, or at least explain why maybe nothing is working.

Run the validator and post the result here.
But from what you say you most probably copied new files to wrong folder. Don't drag files to copy them. It's easy to end up copying them to subfolder this way. Always select files, right click, copy, and then in folder with your game right click, paste.
Alternatively you can try my repack (link in description). You can update straight away to the newest version and skip DLCs you don't want.

I found your repack as well which seemed like a much easier option but honestly, I have no idea what I'm doing. Do i need to install all files of the repack into a zip? I don't click and drag the files, I just use the actual "copy to" button and copy them all into the sims 4 folders. I ran the validator, here is the results.

Uh, the folder you selected in validator is missing base game files. So find your base game first. Search for "clientfullbuild8.package" file and send here full path to that file.

I figured out what I did wrong, I redid the validator but the results are too long and it's not letting me send it even in a spoiler. It basically says I'm missing orangemu.dll and that all the get famous files are unknown.
Also, I'm trying to use your repack instead, but i got stuck. It says before I run anything to go in origin and update my game but that's not working. I feel like i need to do something with the origin rar file i had to download first but I'm not sure what to do with it.

There are two installers in my repack. One for people with original game and one for people without. So open interactive instructions and make sure you select proper option.
You can always use site like pastebin and paste just the link here if the validator result is that long.

Okay so basically I ran the installer I'm supposed to use for already having the base game and it says I'm missing the no-origin-fix-rar for 1.44.77, and I only have the one for 1.52.100. I have it in the folder there but It says I need a different version (the 1.44.77).
I apologize if I'm being very stupid about these things, I've just kind of picked up how to do this as I went along. I don't know why I always have so many difficulties with this, it really shouldn't be this complicated I know.

Then why did you select "Yes" in interactive instructions? You DON'T have original game so select "No".
As for validator: Move all files from "The Sims 4/The Sims 4 - Get Famous" to "The Sims 4".

I apologize, I thought it just meant having the base game installed in general, I didn't know it meant original origin version.

There's really no reason to be so rude about it. If you didn't want to help me or I was being too dumb for you, you weren't required to. The definition of "original" is simply the first version or earliest version - in this case of the game, aka the base game, nowhere did you specify the legal original, it's really not even that ridiculous of a mistake to make.

Agreed, Original game to me just means the base game, legal or pirated. "Do you have the original game from Origin installed" is a lot clearer.
