Big Sims 3 update problem!
Whenever I try updating my main Sims game, I *always* get told the game is not installed. It is, and when I crack it, it's working just fine. This error happens with the manual patch, and also if I use the launcher to update. When I try to install Generations, I can't because it says it needs to update my version of the game, if I say "no" it closes the install but if I say "yes" it will try to update unsuccessfully (I assume it's because of the same problem - not being able to find the original game).
I installed the game and the expansions in a partition other than C:. I prefer to not install games on my C: partition because it's smaller and to keep things organized. I thought this might be why it can't find the game, but I've also tried to use the "default" installation folder and nothing happened. (When I did this I even installed TS3 by itself (even though I have it as a part of a bundle) so that it wouldn't create a folder called TS3 bundle or something.) I even tried to place the manual patch *in* the same folder as the game, but to no avail.
I'm also pretty sure it's not the cracks - I've reinstalled it several times over, with and without cracking it, and it never seems to work either way. (To run the game and patch it via launcher, I must have the crack installed though, but as I said above I've tried the manual and Generations install route as well.)
Nothing seems to work and I have no idea what to do! Thanks for your help.

Hello,
If you're using a bundle, chances are you're dealing with a modified installer which causes a lot of problems with updates and additional expansions.
The solution is to download the base and the expansions from G4TW here or here.
It doesn't matter on which partition they're installed, I have them on D: myself.

Re: Big Sims 3 update problem!
Thank you! I downloaded your version, but now when I'm installing I get a 'bhei01m.ttf' error, it says the device is not ready. At the same time, it ejects my mounted image and then when I mount it again (and it's the right one, it won't accept another) it keeps installing until 'bhei01m.ttf' comes up again. It's actually gotten stuck several times along the way, especially when it's almost fully installed.
I rebooted my computer after uninstalling the other version, and I'm installing this to a different folder as well. I have tried Googling but I can only find a different 'bhei01m.ttf' error.

Yes, I did. :/ Did I do that wrong? I extracted the .rar file with winrar and then I mounted the images with Daemon Tools.

Hello,
No winRAR is good.
Looks like this problem is more Admin's piece of pie though, I have never even heard of this error.

Re: Big Sims 3 update problem!
Thank you! Do I have to post this somewhere else or do they usually read this forum?
(Oh, and as extra info: I have more than enough room for the game, it downloaded without any problems and it also doesn't ask me to insert the other image, for some reason.)

Re: Big Sims 3 update problem!
Solved! Here is what I did, if anyone else has the same issue.
- Copied the contents of the first disk (the Sims 3 one) onto a folder on my computer.
- It was ejected when I reached the "bhei01m.ttf" file, so I "ignored" that error, re-mounted the image, and kept copying.
- After it was done, I went to the other disk (the disk1). Both disks seem to have this same file in the same subfolder, so I hoped this one wasn't corrupt or anything and copied it to the correspondent location in my copied folder of the first disk.
- I changed the names of the files in my folder to .exe since some of them seem to have become ".ex_" in the copy.
- I ran the autorun one, and then I installed it as usual.
//EDIT
I seem to be having a new problem now. I installed the updates (the first two and then the most recent one, in order), and fixed it. I also cracked the game because without the crack it told me to insert the CD. I have Generations and Pets installed since I don't have the other expansions yet, so I made sure to place everything in the main game directory.
When I start the game (Pets) it works but when that loading bar comes up (the one that says things like hatching fleas, etc after the video), when it finishes loading the game crashes and shuts down. :/
ETA: I also get a "game might have unnofficial modifications" or whatever it says when I run the game. I do not have any CC. This only happens when I use the crack, if I use the files in the fix (which seem to have the same name so they replace each other) the game gets past the loading screen but tells me to insert my DVD.
