Post by Guest Thu 15 Mar 2012, 04:06

so I read the big announcement about how to install...after I installed differently.

I have a legal copy of basegame, and your copy of Ambitions, World adventures, late night, and all the cracks from late night. this works fine.

i am trying to install generations, but i keep seeing horrifying comments about how it destroyed peoples save files and ect and i dont want to screw up.

how should i install it?

do i ignore the cracks included in generations? halp!

Before you install generations make sure to back up any saved games, mods/CC etc.

Make sure to update to latest patch level which you could find here https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1870-can-t-update-the-sims-3-to-v132-fix-manual-patch-updated

Dont use the crack that came with generations use the Ultimate Fix found here https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t752-the-sims-3-ultimate-fix-should-fix-most-of-your-problems

Losing content during an installation/Update is not uncommon but better safe than sorry right.

To be able to back up all you have to do is move the folder called The Sims 3 found here Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3. Move it to the Desktop for easier access.

After you have installed and updated just move the folder back to the same directory and let it overwrite if you are prompted to

You do not apply the separate cracks, since the ultimate fix will get all the EPs in working order for you. Just follow every step of the fix, without skipping or missing one, this is the key for it to work!
