Problem installing expansions HELP

I bought sims 3 off of steam, I have tried to install world adventures, the town stuff pack, and pets they all do the same thing, it says that the sims 3 needs to be installed. I have sims 3 installed I play it daily does anyone know how to correct this problem?

I think it's because Steam games get installed in a different directory than other games you'll install. I'm not entirely sure about that though, so I'd wait for Admin's reply. He'll probably be more help than me.

ya I got tired of it and just downloaded a sims 3 iso. Now I just need to figure out how to manually update it

Indeed, when you install the game via Steam, your PC won't recognize it as a separate game.
Please uninstall the Steam version and download our version of the base game. Install it using your retail code (not that it makes a difference, but OK).
