Problems with installing Sims 3 Expansions
I've got a mac and tried to install one of your sims 3 expansions (katy perry sweet treats), but i really don't know how that works I extracted the files, created a .dmg file out of them but now i don't know further.
I created the image with the in mac osx integrated programme ( i dont't know the english word for it but it would be something with hard disk-programme), but the image includes a hard disk, so if i want to open it, i only see the files.
I really am an amateur…..
Can you please help me?

Hello,
So, you created the image, now all you need to do is open (double-click?) it and then run the installer.

Re: Problems with installing Sims 3 Expansions
Thanks for your answer.
Normally, it should! Now i tried it again and choose another format für the image (Cd/DVD Master), and now it was a .cdr file. And this one just opens in finder, and i can see the files in it

Hello,
Then try opening the file with something like "setup" in it.

Hello,
Ok, let's rewind. Get back to the part where you create the image. It should be in .dmg format. Can you do that?

Re: Problems with installing Sims 3 Expansions
So, i open the programme "Disk Utility". Now i go in "Image by File Folder", where I choose the file folder with the files of the expansion and click on "image" Now I can choose where I want to put the file into. I choose my Desk. I can also choose the Image format (on the internet i read i should choose "DVD/CD Master, but so i would get a .cdr file, now i will take the one given "compacted" to get an .dmg image). Now it takes time to create it, and after that the .dmg file is on my desk.
When I now doube klick on it, it activates the file, and i can see it in the finder as Device, and I can open it like an hard disk, not like a cd.
Do you have a Mac yourself or are you used to it?
And thank you so so much for spending me your time
//EDIT
SO, i really think it is NOT possible for me to install your expansions, because theres nothing for mac osx in it.

Hello,
Neither of us has much (or any, in my case) experience with MAC.
But you say you can open it like a hard disk, what's inside?
Edit: of course you can, people have installed our expansions on MAC before
Ok go to page 5: http://games4theworld.org/Guides/The_Sims_3_MAC_Guide.pdf
It'll tell you how to do it step by step. It's about late Night but the same should apply to all the other expansions.
And, extract the RAR with stuffit expander.

Re: Problems with installing Sims 3 Expansions
The Installation worked really fine, but when starting the game, the game opens, it s blinking blue and then there comes a message in a window, which tells me something about that I made an inofficial gamemodification, and the game could be crahesd when i start it. Do i wanna Quit? I can click no an yes, when clicking yes it quits, when no it starts.
Then it looks like it would start correctly but after the loading the game (when thge Katy Perry Sweet Treats logo appears), the game is closing and the following message is appearing:
Exception raised
Unhandled page fault on write access to 0x00000000 at address 0x7c4713b3.
Do you wish to debug it ?
I can click what I want, the game is closing.
Do you know why?

Mods and Custom Content are things/stuff you added extra to the game.
For example a new hairstyle.
