Battlefield Bad Company 2, updater data error, told to verify that correct files are downloaded.[SOLVED]

Hi, so i know that there's that common problem requiring an update.

when i first launched the game, it said i needed to update, click yes. wait for about 2 hours, error message comes up saying that there's a data error. verify that correct files are downloaded.

i've done a search on battlefield 2 on this forum and no one's had this problem.. hope someone can help please, thanks

Hello Jonathan,

Go to your game directory, and you'll find a application to update your game. Try update your game from there. This also will fix your mouse problem in game later.

If you still face same problem, give a try for this step:


1) Drive your browser to: http://www.4shared.com/file/IEulTLMx/battlefield_fix.html?
2) Download the fix.
3) Extract the .rar file.
4) Copy all files from the folder you get after you done extract.
5) Paste at your file directory.

Now try launch your game. Give a try, see if this fix your problem. And please do update me later.

hi thanks for the reply, this are the steps i followed


1. Completely uninstall the game.
2. Restart your PC.
3. Reinstall the game and DO NOT apply the crack or anything else.
4. Read the included "# Installation Guide.txt" on how to update the game.
5. Mount the required images, start the game and see if it works.

i then put the crack in and also the fix. works well now
