new to the this! Empty new to the this!

Post by Guest Tue 11 Sep 2012, 14:59

Hi, I have just downloaded the sims 3 and a few expansions plus some stuff packs, I find it a little confusing as to when to put patches in and whether to update. I will follow instructions on the other page and install sims base then expansions then stuff packs, but what do I do then because in one of the zip folders it says to put all separate cracks into each game?

Hello,

Ignore all the instructions that come with the torrent downloads - only the ones for installing the game, using the included serial codes, of course - and follow these instructions at all time: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly

Hello,

They are in the included "# Installation Guide.txt" files, that come with all our downloads.

Sorry but every time I try to open one of the installation files power archiver crashes. Also which file do I click on to install the game? Do I have to unzip all the files to a new folder?

//EDIT

O.K. here is an update - power archiver is fine. I originally downloaded the sims complete from ISO hunt but then came across this site, so I just kept the base game from that pack which is an ISO image and downloaded the other packs from here but these don't seem to be ISO files. I am a little confused as to what to do! Do I have to extract these files or no? Is there a base game here or will I have to use the one I have? How do I open the ISO file without burning also?

Hello,

The base game you have will probably be just fine. The expansions are installed by running the setup:

Extract everything with winRAR. This is very important, another program can mess up the files.

Hello,

There's no exact order, just follow these instructions/order: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly

I thought that if a newer one was installed before an older one it could mess the game meaning reinstalling.

Hello,

Not to our knowledge. That was true for The Sims 2 though.

Hello,

The order seemed to be important back then, but after the release of Generations, the whole The Sims 3 "construction" changed, so to speak.
Anyhow, please let us know the final result. Good luck!
