i think the new patch is causing lagging issues
i deleted all my sims stuff eps and stuffs packs, and i reinstalled them all back except sesaons, and i updated to the new patch, and i still had the same loading issues when i tried to start a new game,so i uninstalled everything again, and i reinstalled everything back without the new patch, and everything loaded normally.so i think its the new patch that was causing the 1 hour loading screens, the new patch makes the computer work harder during sims play..

Hello,
I think you may be right, people are complaining about lag/freeze, long loading times, and random crashes all over the official sims3.com forum.
I'm relieved actually, my game hardly ever crashes despite my ancient pc, that is, untill I installed the 1.42 patch and Seasons and I was beginning to think I can't run it with Seasons. This may simply mean we have to sit tight until EA finds it in their heart to fix this issue.

Re: i think the new patch is causing lagging issues
I was having lots of issues with lag and game freezing after Seasons and the 1.42 patch; seems that the Seasons Fairgrounds has huge routing issues. Installed twallan's override mod (which I have set to run at 3am every Sim day), disabled memories, and stay logged out (also cleared caches). First day I had 5000+ cars and 10 stuck sims in Hidden Springs. Game has been running great with no lags or freezing ever since. Hope this helps with people's issues (I play my sims on a three year old laptop with windows 7).

Override Mod? Do you mean Overwatch?

Actually for me, I had minor lag before 1.42 and now most is eliminated...
