They is no HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sims\The Sims 3 path

2. Now open the Start menu. Type 'regedit' in the search box and press [ENTER]. Navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sims\The Sims 3 and double-click on 'SKU'. Change the shown
number to 2 and press 'OK'. Close the Register Editor.

The problem is that they is no such path as HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sims\The Sims 3,
when I reach the software part, I do not see any 'sims' document, nor anything else that has to do with Sims.
How do I fix this?

Thanks, I found it. Can I by the way ask one more little question? I want to download and install each expansion pack for the sims 3, and I am also following the guide here:

But I see that when installing some expansions, for example world adventure it reads in the instructions that you have to patch the game, will this affect anything?
I am asking because the second step in the guide is to install a manual patch.. I just don't want to have to reinstall the game again, and thanks again.

Don't use any of the cracks or patches that comes with the expansions. The ones that comes with WA often don't work. You can install a more recent EP first, or start with the manual patch from step 3.
