Good free software Empty Good free software

Post by Guest Sun 09 Dec 2012, 23:49

I have a few I really like:-
AVG - Great AV
Speccy - Just this minute saved me hours of trawling on the internet for my pc specs
CCleaner - Great for keeping my pc running
WinRar - Says it won't work after the trail - still does
DVDVideoSoft - Use to download my music - Youtube converter
Daemon tools lite - Great for torrents
VLC - Only thing I use for videos on my pc now

Does anyone else have any free software to share with me? Always interested in trying new free stuff out!

Ones I use/like not on your list.
Microsoft Security Essentials - (Anti-Virus)
Malwarebytes Anti-Malware - (Anti-Malware)
Defraggler - (Disk Defragment program which has a lot more functions then Window's Version.)
Core Temp - (While not really overly useful, first program I found that I liked to monitor my CPU temp, can give warnings and such if temp gets too high also.)

Ones I use/like on your list.
Speccy - (So easy to notice everything related to your computer in one simple location.)
CCleaner - (Really nice to have a program to check for registry entries for programs that have been removed, and it has a uninstaller built in, not sure if it does any better then window's tho. Can uncheck stuff you don't want in the scan. I need to find the one for MSE scan's...)
WinRAR - (I wouldn't say it's a free program, you can get cracks and such for it tho, or just use the trial, might just block you from compressing after the trail ends tho, who knows.)

Hello there,

I personally like Paint.NET too, for photo editing.

Slackware Linux Very Happy

Actually, here's my Windows setup:

7zip
CCleaner
DTLite
FortKnox Personal Firewall (I miss Sygate, this is pretty close to it)
Panda Cloud
Notepad++
Sandboxie
VLC
Visual Studio Express (I don't use this, mine is the full suite provided by my place of business, but it's good if you're in a pinch and need something quick and free)
