Sims 3 "Services" Issue

I have several expansions and stuff packs from here (actually only games of mine is Base WA Ambitions and LN) and after Pets came out, I started noticing an issue with the optional services such as butlers and social services. When I hire a butler, a cluster of butlers stand on the other side of my street slowly dwindling down, day after day, but I never receive a butler.I also I tried to buy a pet via the phone, or put a pet up for an adoption the social services Sim never shows up. I haven't had an issue with core services like cops and firefighters. Has anyone else had this issue, and if so, please let me know if there is a fix! It's kind of bugging me.

Hello,
I've never experienced this error, but I have heard of it! The butler bug anyway. This page on Nraas wiki handles several bugs including the butler one, scroll down about halfway to find their answer to it.

Thanks for the advise, and actually I started following the steps on the site, deleted what I thought to be an unsupported modification, and that fixed my butler issue without the rest of the steps. Still trying to find a fix for the social services issue. (Not sure why only that optional/required service is bugged and not police, firefighters ect)

Hello,
I think the difference is that the social worker for instance is an NPC, but firefighters and police are other sims in town who have taken these jobs.
I'm not sure how the social service one is fixed. But you can try forcing the pet adoption service to drop by with testingcheatsenabled true which allows you to shift-click the mailbox and force an npc to show up.

I tried that, was my first instinct. Still nothing. I'll keep looking for that fix, as for the butler issue, Solved.

Hello,
I'll close this topic for now, you may want to do a google search on "service sim doesn't show up" or something like that. I attempted this today and yesterday and the official sims3 forum seems to have topics about this but the site is down for maintenance since yesterday. Its usually not that helpful, but you never know, they do make themselves useful from time to time.
