Problem with Sims 3 Seasons. [SOLVED] Empty Problem with Sims 3 Seasons. [SOLVED]

I'm having an issue with the seasons expansion pack. I received Sims 3 as a birthday gift and thought I'd download the expansion pack from here. I followed the instructions to the letter, but when I start it, I first get a warning that it's not up to date, then it starts okay but stops loading once I've chosen the particular sim I want to play as.

Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you

Doing steps 2-4 should fix your problem: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly
DO NOT skip any steps and re-download both the manual patch and the Ultimate Fix. Good luck and please let us know the result!
