iPod Touch and iTunes Problem
Well, I have quite a few problems, and ways to solve them are impossible due to other reasons, and nobody seems to want to help me. So please, would somebody here try? I'll try my best to make this sorted well. I believe this goes it software. This may be lengthy, but please bare with it, I need help with this.
Please, someone, help me. I want this fixed so badly. I think I have mentioned all the information I have on this, I'm sorry if I left something out. If you would like some kind of additional information on it, just ask. I'm so sick of this, and I'm starting to get very irritated. If there are any mistakes in this, sorry, I'm not a good proofreader, but his isn't an essay, so don't complain. Don't give me useless answers like, "Oh, I don't know" or "Never heard of this before, sorry". Give me something productive. I am in no mood for yahoo answers spam replies. I apologize if this is coming across as rude, I'm not meaning to be. Any help, no matter how small, is welcome. Just actually try to help. Thank you in advance, and sorry for this crazy length!

- My iPod is iOS 6.0, I can't update, which I'll get to later.
- So, the issue that started this was that in iTunes, when you have your iPod selected, the button that says "On This iPod" that lets you listen to the music on your iPod was gone. It may have disappeared when I may have updated iTunes, though I'm not sure because it ended with an error all three times I tried, but the message doesn't appear anymore, so I assume it somehow worked.
(When searching for a way to see what version of iTunes I had, I was told was that didn't work or contradicted with other things and such, so I have no idea how to see. I miss it telling me right on iTunes...)
- When looking up anything about that issue, I found nothing about it. I found some other things, none of which were helpful. It doesn't look like the ability to access your iPod's music was removed with 11, though. I thought perhaps it was a compatibility issue, since my iPod is iOS 6.0, so I went to update it. It told me it would erase the content of my iPod, and the internet says the same thing. Backing up my iPod doesn't back up my songs or apps, so I would lose them all. I've only had my current laptop for 2 months now, and nothing is on here. I can't sync my iPod to it, or everything will be gone except for the like, 10 songs I bought from iTunes. My apps would be gone or reset. This leads to my next issue.
- I can't take the songs off my iPod. If I wished to somehow back up the songs manually by moving them to my computer or so I can just listen to them there, I can't. My computer recognizes my iPod as a camera. I can't get into the song files to do anything with them. I looked it up, and its supposed to do that, so we can get our photos off (obviously). But nobody is saying anything about any way to access the song files. I can't get to it through iTunes folders, either. I have hidden folders and such showing. Apparently, in all iPod touches and iPhones, you can no longer access the song files. (Great idea, there, Apple. Thanks.) This leaves any suggestions of "Restore iPod" or similar things impossible for me. I also can't just take the songs and listen to them on something else, like Windows Media Player.
- I can't just redownload everything, I have way too many songs. Also, whenever I download a song on here that isn't from the iTunes store, a day or so later, it no longer works. Wherever the files are going after I download them, they are moved or deleted shortly after. So storing them there wouldn't work. I haven't deleted them from my downloads, so not quite sure why this issue is happening.
- I've tried obvious things, like restarting my computer, iPod, and closing and opening iTunes. I have disconnected and reconnected my iPod, nothing is working. I like to listen to music when working, playing games, or when drawing a picture. My iPod either doesn't cut it or I would have to choose between games sounds or music through my headphones.

Re: iPod Touch and iTunes Problem
Hello there,
When you connect your iPod and want to access your pictures, choose "Open device to view files" on the "AutoPlay" popup. For as far as I can remember, there's never been an option to see the actual songs that are on the iPod, via Windows Explorer.
When you switched to a new laptop, didn't you make a backup of your iTunes Library? Because it's not possible to transfer songs from your iPod to your PC. Whenever you sync, it'll always sync the songs from your PC to the iPod, not vice versa. (Only apps are synced both ways - E.g. if you update an app on your iPod, it'll also be updated in your iTunes, during the sync process)
There are, however, special programs that can "extract" the songs from your iPod to your PC. Never used something like that, but I know there are. Usually you have to pay for them though (or you have to find a torrent for that specific program).
I do have a program called "TuneSwift", which creates a backup of my whole iTunes Library, everything included. So when I format my PC, I just run that program and choose to restore everything and it'll restore iTunes, exactly like it was before. That is currenty useless in your situation though.

Re: iPod Touch and iTunes Problem
Thank you for your advice. I was actually able to find a program that lets me export songs from my iPod to iTunes. But I think I like this program even better than iTunes itself. I'm surprised I managed to find something like this. It's called "Wondershare". I might take a peek at what Tuneswift is all about, too and see if it's better now that my songs are once again in my iTunes. My last laptop met a tragic end on a rainy night were the walls in the camper were apparently not secure, so I lost everything on there. I did have my songs on a usb drive, but the inside of the drive fell out (?) and what was in there is now gone as well. I'm such a lucky person!
Edit: Ah, a 30 day trial. And I thought I found the perfect solution. Only lets me transfer 20 songs before it cuts me off. Should I make a topic in the request area or can I just request a torrent of this here? It's called "Wondershare MobileGo for iOS".

Glad to hear it helped a little bit.
About the laptop, water shouldn't immediately damage the actual hard disk with all your information. You should/can take it out and put it in another desktop or even an external HDD case.
