ERROR during the start. [SOLVED]

Hi everyone, i've a problem with the starting of the gams: i've the sims 3, university, late night as original games, yesterday i've installed the sims 3 seasons from your download, but it's not working! at first it starts as usual with a black screen shot but then it turns off and appears a error that says "the instruction at 0x00001f00 referenced memory at 0x00001f00. the memory could not be read". But before was saying another code "0x004dd536" and another memory "0x07653db9"
i've also updated the game at version 1.67 but i haven't done the ultimate fix ('cause i dont know what it is)

i think i may have done something wrong during the installation but i did what was written in the installation guide file. what should i do? please help me! ERROR during the start. [SOLVED] 2830496658

oh i forget something, during the installation when it's over you have to drag the file in #cracks in the program but, i dont know maybe 'cause my pc is set in italia, i dont have the (x86) "C:\programfiles(x86)\ElectronicArts\..." but just C:\programfiles\ElectronicArts\..."
could be that the error?

that the pc didn't let me go on the address C:\Programfiles(x86)\electronicarts\thesims3\game\bin, it said that is wrong, instead it lets me go on C:\programfiles\electronicarts\thesism3\game\bin so i copied the two files in that folder and i had to overwrite them

no it doesn't, i've already overwrite them when i installed seasons and then the problem started: when i try to launch the game it writes me the error that i've posted above

In your case, the files need to be placed in C:\Program Files\Origin Games\The Sims 3\Game\Bin.
Does this help?

do you mean the files i've already put in C:\programfiles\electronicarts\thesism3\game\bin?
in the Origin Games folder i dont have any folders at all, should i create them?

Well that's where the error is coming from then: you said your base game was from Origin, right? Then how come there is no folder there?

i didn't say that, i said that i have the original game and 2 expansions, but both in disc format

Then you should put them in C:\Program Files(x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin.

Both files (TS3W.exe and TSLHost.dll should be copied over and replace some other files.
If you have not been prompted to replace, then you have dine it wrong...

This is a very serious error. Your system might be corrupted.
If you can restore your system to a previous time, I would suggest doing so.
Otherwise, maybe uninstall everything using YourUninstallerPro, then re installing everything...

i installed everything, re-installed the game base (it worked) and the expansion seasons and nothing, has appeared the error window again!

I know it has been (indirectly) said before here, but again: at first, please re-do the steps from #2 to #4 here: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly

If it really doesn't work after that, then look at this video here:

This video is for 64-bit systems. If your Windows is a 32-bit version though, then the registry location is....

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Software -> Sims

excuse me, but in that page, what does it mean that i may skip all the #crack folder?? should i just instal the expansions and not coping the files in #crack folder into the bin folder of the game?

This means you should not use the #cracks inside the expansions. Smile

Here's a more simplified guide by me:

1) Install the base game

2) Apply the latest manual patch (step #2 in the guide I posted)

3) Install all expansions you want now. Don't use the #cracks inside the expansions !

4) Re-apply the manual patch - even if it says 'your game is updated already'.

5) Now you just do steps #3 and #4 in the guide that I posted. This means, download the latest Ultimate fix (step #3) and apply it as in step #4.

And that should do !

just two more questions and i hope to not bother again! first of all, if i'm going to instal other expansions what should i do? i should follow the instructions in the expansion's folder or i should re-do al this procedure all the times? i mean should i copy and paste the things in the crack folder of the expansion or should i re-apply the ultimate fix and copy only the files in that crack folder and not the ones of the expansions?
second, what about the folder of the game after i've installed it? can i delete it?

Install all expansions you want, and at the end, re-do the steps from #2 to #4 here: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly

You should ONLY use the two files inside the #crack-folder of the Ultimate fix, and nothing else ! Wink

About your downloaded stuff: I personally recommend that you actually back them up somewhere before you delete them. For example, copy these folders to an external hard-drive. And then you can erase them from your computer. The idea is that you don't have to re-download all the stuff again, if your computer gets any 'problems'. Smile

You can just run the installation from your external hard-drive then.
