Free VPNs?

Hey guys, I was wondering about a few things. I received a warning letter from Charter a long time ago, probably 2009 or so. I haven't torrented any big games like The Sims 3 since then, so I am a little paranoid about this stuff(I live in the US). Charter isn't apart of the six-strike thing, yet they still send out those letters. I'm still interested in trying it out again, this time using a free VPN(heard they're not as effective as a paid one, but I'm currently without a credit card, so I'd prefer to stick with free) and configuring utorrent with encryption settings. Also heard it's wise to use a program that will shut your torrenting off if the VPN d/cs. Think that will do the trick?

Another thing is that I can't find a free VPN that supports torrenting. Do any of you know of one I could use? I wouldn't mind if it was a free trial where I could just use it for a week, either, since I just want The Sims 3 stuff anyways. I guess another one of my worries is whether or not they can catch you through the file of the game itself. Like, are downloads more monitored than other downloads? Is there a way to know if the ones on this site are being monitored or whatever? I am a little confused about that, mind.

I'm not sure if any free VPN's offer torrenting, just because it's would cost them a lot of bandwidth if they did.


I have a http/https socket proxy on my utorrent, which secures the data between it and the host, so is doing a VPN effect (or should be I think at least.) Then I got legacy connection only set. Not sure if it's working or not, haven't got a letter from my ISP...

A proxy doesn't offer the same certainty a VPN offers.
Anyhow, if it's not a problem for you, you can also pay for a seedbox, which will download the .torrent file for you and then you can download it as a high-speed direct download from your seedbox' server.
