Base game not compatible

Hi, so here is the problem.
I installed the Sims 3 base game, all good.
Then, I installed Ambitions,strictly as mention in the Instalation guide.
But when I try to play and open the launcher, it says that my base game is not compatible with the expansion disc, that if I wish to update the game with the launcher, so I click on yes, and it does nothing. And if I click no, then I just can't play.
What to do? thanks.

Didn't want to install them (late night and the other one) but ok. I'll tell you how it goes

Ok, hey there. I just solved my own problems and I can lead you in the easiest direction. With my experience, the so called ultimate fix didn't fix anything for me. However, you must install outdoor living stuff and late night.

The way I got every expansion to work for myself was to install in this order.

The Sims 3
The Sims 3: Outdoor Living
- Apply Patch
The Sims 3: Late Night
The Sims 3: World Adventures*
The Sims 3: High End Loft Stuff*
The Sims 3: Ambitions*
The Sims 3: Fast Lane Stuff*
- Apply Cracks in Late Night and Outdoor Living

* = optional

As far as I know, the fix before todays update would result in the game requesting the user to insert a disc.

Give this a go and see if it works. I can't wait to try the Generations and see how things go on my end.
