SimCity 4 crack problem

I know this is an old game and im pretty much a noob at this sort of thing , however I followed the instructions for mounting the ISO's and installing the game but when it comes to installing the crack I'm having problems , every time I try to extract the rar file to the "apps" folder I get this message :

! C:\Users\linda\Downloads\Downloaded music\SimCity 4 Deluxe.rar: Cannot create simcity 4.exe
Access is denied.
! C:\Users\linda\Downloads\Downloaded music\SimCity 4 Deluxe.rar: No files to extract

I'm not sure if I have done something wrong during installation or not extracting the crack correctly but I tried using Winrar and 7-zip , both give me the same message.
Can anybody help ?

Click "Extract here", or just the simple extract, then move your files.
Otherwise, you might need access rights... (launching as admin)

Thanks for the reply , I have been clicking extract here which is when I get this message. I right clicked on winrar a moment ago and clicked run as admin but again I get the same message , would I be right in saying this is what you meant by access rights ?

Yes, that was what I meant.
I usually do it with 7-zip: select the archive, click Extract, then OK.
If this still doesn't work, try re downloading, maybe with Chrome (your download is incomplete and cannot extract correctly)

I'll try downloading again , I've just had another message when I drag the file from winrar straight into the apps folder I get this message : you need permission to perform this action , I right clicked properties on the maxis folder and ticked allow on the boxes where it says control but still get the same message.

Try moving the crack to your Desktop first and then, from there, move it to the correct folder. (C:\Program Files (x86)\Maxis\SimCity 4 Deluxe\Apps)
