Problem installing Sims 3 Generations. [SOLVED]

Hi,

I have a problem trying to install "The Sims 3 Generations".

I have installed the base game, but when I try to install Generations it won't install. I get an error after the installationprogram is trying to 'update' it to the latest version (I'm Dutch, so sorry if my discription is al little vague). Then i get a message that the update has failed and the installation cannot continue.

What am I doing wrong? I deinstalled all of the other expansions and just left the base game and then tried to install generations, but I still get this message..

Maybe a rather dumb question, but where do I get these updates you discribe?

You simply install each game, open the launcher and the launcher should mention that there is an update up to the point that the latest installed content pack has been fully updated. But remember, if you crack a game before updating all of the games you want to install you will not be able to update. The crack prevents the games from updating any further.

Well.. The first error is gone. But during installation it gives an error that has something to do with package 08? Then it shuts itself down.. So now I am downloading The Sims 3 generations again, because I think something went wrong during the first download?

Hello,

While re-downloading, please try this extraction method for the (previous) downloaded .rar file:

Open the .rar file you downloaded using only WinRar, which can be downloaded from www.games4theworld.org . (If you use any other software than WinRar, like WinZip or 7-zip, the files will get messed up!)
When you've opened the file using WinRar, select áll the files in it and drag & drop them to a folder on your Desktop. When the extraction is done, close the .rar file and open the folder on your Desktop.
Now, start by reading the included "# Installation Guide.txt" and you should be able to get the game to work yourself. Good luck!
