Error starting up the sims?
Hello, everyone, my first post here.
I had the sims installed and working perfectly for a while now. 2 days ago, I installed the University Life Expansion game, and it was still working normally, no problems at all. But today, when I started the game, it kept giving me the error "0x024e424f"
I looked at different forum topics with the same problem. Tried the Ultimate Fix, I even installed Town Life Stuff for it, but I'm still getting the same error. Tried running as admin., and running it without the launcher(from where the game is installed), still gives me the same error :/ if anybody knows how to help, pleaaaaaaase, I'm out of ideas here..

Try downloading the manual patch, and the ultimate fix (both again, if you have already.) then use them, starting with the patch and running it even if it tells you you're up-to-date already. Then just use the #crack folder from the fix.
Also, try renaming "Documents\Electronic Arts\Sims 3" and testing the game.

Yeah, I'm already trying this, I'll post the result after I'm done, just might take me a while.

Okay. I think the problem was with the way I understood the whole "replacing crack" process. I made a couple of mistakes there, I'm sorry I guess this was kinda my fault, not the ultimate fix's.
Well, anyhow, thanks a lot for this guys, it's working perfectly now x) all I did was follow the instructions PRECISELY this time.
