Launcher won't open after 1.55 update?

I can't seem to get the launcher to load up after I updated the game and applied the fix.

I tried the various launcher-related execution files in the main game folder, but the launcher never actually appears on my screen. I know that it's running because there is a system process for the launcher in my Task Manager, but it just doesn't seem to work even if I wait for many minutes.

The only way I can run the game is directly through the TS3W.exe file.

I won't be able to update or add CC if I can't open the launcher, any ideas?

EDIT: Nevermind, it actually did come up eventually. but it took a ridiculous amount of time to do so. Is there any way to make it faster?

Hey!
Try to use CC Magic to compress your packages. Especially if you have a lot of them.
The new update did changes to the Launcher, so yeah, things might indeed go wrong...

I'm having the same problem, and when the launcher does pop up after several minutes and I try to get it to install s3p, the little window that pops up just gets stuck and nothing happens... I've waited as long as 30 minutes and the progress bar won't move :/
it looks like this for like ever...

I'm using Window 8 64-bits and I have Generations, Supernatural, Seasons, University and I installed Island Paradise today and the launcher just started behaving.

Can you please tell me how you fixed the launcher?

I can't think of anything. I moved my The Sims 3 Folder into a backup on my desktop and tried to open the launcher to reset the game but it won't work.

The launcher refuses to open. I would like to mange some of my custom content and I can't do that without the launcher

Hello,

It would seem that the 2 people in this topic waited for the launcher that popped up eventually. I'm not sure what could cause this. But if the same thing happens for you, you could consider only using the launcher when you want to manage your cc.

@milaconspires try to give TS3W.exe a higher priority in your task manager.

I am having problems with my launcher also, it is sssooo slow to open, it installs things slowly. It also crashes when I am trying to uninstall stuff, I go to check what I want to uninstall and as I go down the list, it crashes???? Any help would be great!!! Thanks

Hello,

How long does it take to install a sims3pack file? If that costs you 3-7 minutes, that's pretty normal. Also can you try to rename this folder: C:\Users\(name)\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3. Because this may be caused by corrupted CC.

I just installed Island Paradise and now my game isn't working either. After several minutes my launcher will finally pop up but once I hit the arrow to play the game my screen goes black and than I get nothing. Anyone else have any ideas? I would really like to be able to play.

Hello,

Go to C:\Program files(x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin and double-click on the TS3W.exe - now see if your game starts.

The launcher doesn't work for me either, but I can start the game at least - by double-clicking on the TS3W.exe Smile

My screen stays like that for a few minutes but it does go away and I get the Maxis symbol. I've learned patience is the key to playing this game.
