Sims 3 Install Problem

Okay so I went ahead and downloaded all the Sims 3 games, and most of the expansions, I went to the how to install Sims 3 thread. Now it says to just install them in the beginning basically but when I try to install Sims 3 base I get an error before it starts that i have 1.55.4 already installed. Which I do not, I thought maybe this had to do with the update issue but it does not fix the problem. The exact error I get is
"The Setup has detected that version 1.55.004 of the sims3 is already installed. This setup installs an earlier version of the sims 3 (1.0.615). You will have to uninstall the previous version before installing this version."
Problem is, there is no previous version. I have tried deleting anything Sims related, all of it, hell I even went into my reg editor and got rid of anything saying sims3. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It may take some time and effort, but please have a look at this here: http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:TS3_Uninstall
This will help you with a manual "clean" un-install of The Sims 3.
You might also try "Your Un-installer Pro!", available as a torrent download from here: http://www.games4theworld.org/downloads.html
At the main menu, choose "Advanced Un-install" and see if anything related to the Sims 3 shows up. If it does, click on it, and choose "uninstall" at the bottom.
