Re: NVIDIA VS ATI ( GCard)
ATI has the better (Price/Performance), but I prefer NVIDIA. I have a NVIDIA Geforce GTX 260 Overclocked Edition. It's quite a professional card though.

I choose NVIDIA because that's the best one, and I owe it as well.

Re: NVIDIA VS ATI ( GCard)
Well, the better Cards come with software (I use EVGA Precision) which can control the overclocking and the fan speed (If your card has one). If your Card gets very hot, it'll have a shorter life. The best is to keep your Graphic Card cool for best performance and a longer life.

i agree with this... a lot of people talking that nvidia can get heat more fast then ATI. but when i ask at Pc hardware shop. they tell me u should use a fan at your Gcard. and all the problem will solved

Re: NVIDIA VS ATI ( GCard)
ATI > Nvidia in price, performance, and reliability.
The GTX 2xx is old news and gets rather toasty. The 3xx series is expensive as hell.
Out with the old and in with the new, ATI 57xx, 58xx, and 59xx series rocking boxes in benchmarks better than their overpriced Nvidia counterparts (in most areas).
ATI overclocking tools are much easier to work with too, specific companies have their own custom tools, like the ones from Sapphire and Diamond, work very well on cards from other manufacturers as well.
It also comes down to what operating system(s) you run as well. Since I use Linux, I am running an Nvidia GTS 250 (from a little company called "Sparkle") due to their Linux drivers being the most stable and higher performing. ATI isn't there yet in the open source world, but when they get up to par with "the big green", I'll switch in a heartbeat. If I were running Windows only, I'd have jumped the green boat and headed for the red ship.
Basically, what I am saying is, why spend more to do the same things and more? Not only that, ATI will save you on your power bill in the long run (google power consumption of the Nvidia GTX 3xx series and see).

Re: NVIDIA VS ATI ( GCard)
The new ATI HD serie has better cards than Nvidia, especially the Directx 11, which is pretty awesome. Nvidia has such cards too, but those are, again, very expensive.

Re: NVIDIA VS ATI ( GCard)
Well, you don't need to get such an expensive card though. Here you can get Gcards with 1GB memory for less than €100,-

Re: NVIDIA VS ATI ( GCard)
ATI 5770 can be had for $170.00 USD to $215.00 USD. The 5850 can be had for $250.00 USD to $270.00 USD. Both have a standard memory size of 1GB. The best bang for the buck, and can be had cheaper if you look around long enough.
Nvidia GTS250 can be had $115.00 USD to $160.00 USD with 512MB standard, 1GB costing roughly $30-50 USD more. GTX260 with a standard 896MB can cost $170.00 USD to $260.00 USD. These cards are a generation older than the ATI cards, and the GTS250 is technically 2 generations behind since it is basically the same as the 9800GTX+ with a higher clock speed.
