When I choose what town I want for a new game, the game starts to load for a second then crashes. It does this with even Sunset valley (the world I was trying to load was one that I created in CAW) I have ran it with and without custom content (mods,simspacks), nothing is conflicting in Delphy Dashboard. I am not really sure how to trouble shoot any further. I am pretty sure I have cleared any cache files but I am not really sure. Any help is appreciated !! It also might be important to mention that I have installed all of my games on my D drive. My C drive also has Electronic Arts/The Sims 3 etc and I am pretty sure they are working fine so I am pretty sure that is not the problem but again, I dont know what else to do!

Hello,

First of all make sure to (re-)read this here: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly

When you have reached step #4 there, put the two files from the Ultimate fix #crack to your base game location (D drive). Replace all existing files !

Beyond that, if you haven't done it yet, you might want to have a look at this here: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t857-the-sims-3-crashes-freezes-to-desktop-fix-updated-on-14-07-2013

Especially at the tips #2 and #3. If you want to use the "4 GB patch", then double-click it after downloading, and choose the TS3W.exe in your base game location.

Okay. I have done everything up to and including #4 on the crashes/freezing to desktop fix. Going to try and give it another load, thankyou for your help! Hopefully it works!

I have already cleared the dc backup/cache many times but this seems to keep re-appearing

Edit: I cleared them out and now this is the only thing left in delphy http://tinypic.com/r/16j4s9w/5
Edit 2: OKAY. I took advantage of the small window of time I have before it crashes and deleted every single non-EA lot. So far it is working about 5-10 minutes of gameplay. I purchased a few properties and everything... so I am not exactly sure what the problem was/is at this point. I have saved twice with no problems.

As a "last resort", you can go to My Documents/Electronic Arts and rename the folder "The Sims 3" into anything you like. Then re-start the game.

This will basically remove all your saves, mods and custom content. Make a new savegame for now (don't worry - your old stuff is still there !), and play on for a while.
