I kee getting an"Unofficial Mod" error after installing Into the Future. Empty I kee getting an"Unofficial Mod" error after installing Into the Future.

It's strange because I can press continue and play the game as usual. I tried removing the mods folder but the error is still there.

If you really applied the latest Ultimate fix/manual patch, then try deleting all cache files, in My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3:



-CASPartCache.package
-compositorCache.package
-scriptCache.package
-simCompositorCache.package
-socialCache.package
-plus the contents of the folders "WorldCaches" & "Thumbnails"


This should be always done after removing or adding mods/CC, expansions and after patching the game too.

Did you update your game via the launcher? If that is the case, this is probably why you've got the error.

Try repeating steps 2-4 of the guide again: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly. (Meaning you have to (re)download the new Ultimate Fix and the manual patch. Delete the old Ultimate Fix).

I didn't update the game via the launcher though. I updated through the installer of Into the Future. This is really strange because my friend who copied the installer from me is also having the same problem. We can play the game just fine so far but you never know.

Updating via the setup is not the safest way in my opinion (because it happens to be glitching as well). The manual patch is an ideal way to fix any kinds of problems like yours and your friends.

I was really hoping that I wouldn't have to resort to that. I have a really slow connection so downloading a file more than 1GB in size would take 5 hours or more.

Hello,

The manual patch is already included with Into the Future!
Open the .rar file and look in the Support > Updates folder. There you'll find the 1.63 manual patch.
Run it and after doing so, re-do step 3 and 4: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly  - MAKE SURE THAT YOU RE-DOWNLOAD THE ULTIMATE FIX!

I finally caved in and downloaded the manual patch and reapplied the ultimate fix and it looks like it fixed the problems I was having. Thanks a lot for the help guys. You can mark this as a solved problem now.
