Sims 3 Into the Future causing crash at start up

I have removed my mods and custom content so that I can try and download the patch - the patch says there's a corrupt file and won't finish installing. I also just downloaded Into the Future and it's crashing about 10 seconds into the load screen.

I'm at a loss!

Do you still have the torrent Into The Future? If yes, open the .rar of the torrent, and browse to Support >> Updates. There you will find the manual patch. Extract it and double-click it.

Afterwards, drag and drop the content of the folder #crack from the torrent Into The Future to C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin. If you don't have the torrent, download the Ultimate Fix: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t752-the-sims-3-ultimate-fix-should-fix-most-of-your-problems. The content of the folder "#crack" inside the Fix is equivalent to the crack inside the torrent Into The Future.

The one located inside Into the Future isn't up to date, as that one is 1.62 and the most recent patch is 1.63!

Well - now it's telling me that there's a disc authentication failure? Ahh

It's also still crashing on startup - I applied the ultimate fix but to no avail.

Erm, just trying to make sure.

I got all the games from here - except the few I got from Origin.
