Joker's Apologies
the community has grown and I get to see more users. i like joking and being cool with new people as well as normal ones, but I figured out I look like a creepy person when i start joking with strange new people that know nothing about me because its actually the internet.
I started in trying to have a chance to have relationship with helpers mods and the admin... so that later i can behave with new users like im one of the family of g4tw so they dont think im that creepy weird person joking with them
I use swear words/profanity in my talk, its mature. but i dont use profanity or swear words to insult anyone.
I dont know why now its like admin and the others are trying to get rid of me. anyway feel free to delete the account
PS if you are a kid and you are reading this you can see how cool g4tw is by not allowing anyone to use swear words because they know there are kids on the internet i guess.

Re: Joker's Apologies
Hello Joker,
You might not mean to offend anyone by swearing, but it can actually offend people unknowingly. It can result in people either getting aggressive or in people feeling insecure about themselves.
Therefore we've chosen not to allow these kind of words on our Forum. It's something "mature" for you, but that doesn't mean everyone experiences it that way. I think such things don't belong on a child friendly (as much as possible) Forum.
And yes, you're right, there are kids on the internet too. And since this Forum is here "for everyone", we have to respect that.
You've been warned more than once. Not in just one day, but over time, so you know what we experience as "inappropriate behaviour". We'll not delete your account, but if you continue as you used to, you'll be banned. Either temporarily or permanently.

Hi there,
I wasn't threatening you, just summing things up and explaining you "our method".
But yes, you can consider this a last warning too.

Hi there,
Thank you, feel free to come back when you think you're ready for it.
You created some nice banners in the past, so I'm eagerly waiting for more.
Take care until then.

I'm not trying to jump in here and pick sides, however, your apology wasn't really an apology at all. You can't apologize then say that your swearing and profanity is "mature", then claim that you aren't meaning to offend anyone when that is clearly what you're doing - that, and breaking the forum rules.
The point is, as helpers and as an individual (you) that wants to "fit in" (I don't necessarily like this term), you have to be mature, respectful and polite here. It has nothing to do with kids being on the internet, it's just common sense. Not everyone takes swearing as just a "casual" thing - and you're hearing this from someone that, in real life, curses like a sailor. Even though I may curse quite often in my day to day life, I am mature enough to go to a forum (or any 'professional' setting) and turn it off. No, I don't get paid for helping out here, but I take it seriously. I consider it an honor that I was made a Helper here and every day I log on, my goal is to help and assist in any way that I can. Perhaps we are two different personalities?
I hope that regardless, you choose to stick around and assist new Sims 3 players. Admin is not the bad guy here, but neither are you, if you choose not to be!
I apologize if I cut in. Have a good week.
Happy Simming.

Re: Joker's Apologies
Joker, even though I am your friend and you don't mean to insult anybody, your words about me acting like a gay is already an insult. Are you serious about that?Joker wrote:good talk ***** i had to open a topic because you blocked me from doing anything (except opening a new topic)

Having fun doesn't mean you have to swear every time you speak and insult anyone. We love to have fun (granted that G4TW is a gaming community), but we take foul language and profanity seriously. If you don't like staying here, then leave. There is no place for any vulgar behaviours.
P.S. You owe me an apology.

Re: Joker's Apologies
Hello Joker,
There's nothing wrong with using "mature" language. I may seem like a goody2shoes but OMG you should know me IRL, I don't shy away from profanity at all. But there's a time and place for using such language. "When my kids are with me" is not the right time, "at my mother in law's house" is not the right place.
Just as G4TW is not the right place. The team and the users come from all age groups and all countries. And everyone needs to be comfortable here. What you consider a funny nickname has a serious meaning for others and, since this forum is visited by people as young as 13 (or younger, for all we know) we just prefer to keep things "safe for all ages".
That doesn't mean you're not welcome here, on the contrary, everyone is welcome here. As long as you abide by the rules we have set, or at least try to. And you don't have to be serious, just keep it appropriate. If something isn't suitable for your 10 year old sibling, cousin, neighbour (you catch my drift) it's not suitable for the forum.
It's not so much the profanity that I, personally, find unacceptable. But when people are judged or insulted, it makes them feel bad or unsafe and I think (hope) we can agree there's enough of such misery in the world.
I hope you'll consider sticking around, minus your unacceptable language.

Re: Joker's Apologies
Joker, this is something you need to think about for yourself in a more general way. Reading something is always harder than hearing it because there is no tone to it, therefore you cannot know whether the person is ironic or such.
As a consequence, your way of being to direct in your jokes makes it insulting for a lot of people. Know that some persons are sensitive to certain subjects, which you cannot know because you don't know them in real life. So you will hurt them without necessarily having meant to.
This is true for this forum but will also always be true when you're on the Internet, so please bear this in mind for your future virtual life. Well that is if, as I believe, you truly did not want to hurt anyone!
Anyway, if one day you understand all that (and I hope it is by another mean than being victim to it, because it really hurts), I think you are welcome to come back here and everyone will accept you with open hearts!
Till then, good luck!

Re: Joker's Apologies
Joker,
Lady Eldi is right, G4TW has own rules. Everybody have rules, country, church, organization, and house rules etc. G4TW rules is written before you sign up in this forum. It's written boldly. And as written in our trademark Games 4 the WORLD. Almost audience of games are Children ages 13 below. 13 years old is not matured yet. Me myself I'm 15, I accept that i'm not fully mature. I can't take foul languages. Even you are matured, you know that language, if you're totally matured, you will not say those things. Matured people tend first know what people will react what will you going to say. All people not like you if you say something they will only laugh, others don't. Bad language are like knives, when you say it may hurt people.
Were not mad at you. Were just like you to understand that foul language is totally bad.
Let's set an example. If you are a President of a country, were two are talking formally to each other, and I say bad words. What will your reaction? Maybe you may feel like disrespected right?
All of us deserves to be respected. Respect others if you want to be respected too.
This is a little reminder for us all:
(Sorry my English grammar is little bad, because it's not my First Language, hehe)
