Question about a store item gift?

Hi all,

Just a question.  Some very nice person from the sims3 forums gifted me an item from the sims3 store that I wanted but when I went to go download it I got a message saying theres an update for late night and do I want to download the update.  I put no because I thought I might screw up my game, then after that it said an unknown error occurred.  Am I still able to accept a gift for a store item and should I "update late night"?  The item I was gifted was a deep fryer under small appliances in the sims3 store.  I'm confused as to what that has to do with the late night ep at all.

Wow, I didn't know I needed to do that.  Will this be the case also for any item I might decide to buy with my simpoints in the future?

My suggestion is if you receive such a message. Re-apply (or download and install) the manual patch here: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1870-can-t-update-the-sims-3-to-v133-fix-manual-patch. To apply it, simply run it. I don't suggest patching via the launcher.

Remember though, you have to apply the Ultimate Fix after applying the manual patch. Then you can download and install any items you have bought from store without any problems.
