Game freezing and shutting down

Hello all!

This is my first post and unfortunately it's a problem post.

I have a PC and have the base game from CD and all other EP's installed from G4TW. After installing everything during different times the game has worked perfectly fine, no freezing, errors, nada....the last EP I installed was Pets...this is where my problem began. I tried the ultimate fix, did the DEP fix for all .exe files involving the sims base and EP's

The freezing seems to happen at random and there's no way to reproduce it on my own. I've even restarted after the DEP. I feel as though I've done everything within my reach to attempt fixing this...please help...TIA! :newfag: and I'm most definitely not savvy with software tweaking, but I hope someone helps me anyway....LOL

hi do u have any mods if so if they r outdated try to download the latest one's and also try downloading nraas mods

I was having the same problem you are but what was causing it is.My laptop was getting to hot and shutting it's self down...If you are on a laptop you may want to get a cooling fan to go under it...If you are on a desktop and it's doing it try removing the side panel's of the tower to allow more air flow...Also you could try blowing it out with a can of air...I did and mine had alot of dust that came out...

First of all, I urge you to do steps 2-4 of this thread in case you haven't. Even if you have, please repeat the steps again.

Please open the file skuversion.txt in C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin. The first line of the file shows the game version. Can you tell us what the game version is?

the version is 1.63.

I have also deleted all my mods previously (forgot to mention it). =/

I haven't applied the manual patch, since the version i have is 1.63 already.

it only seemed to start happening after I installed pets....FML

Hello,

Since you update via the launcher (or incremental patch?), I cannot guarantee if the update was successsfully installed into your game. It can be actually very dangerous to update via the launcher. Therefore, I strongly recommend you to update via manual patch and apply the Ultimate Fix again.

If that doesn't solve the problem you are having, delete the following caches in C:\Users\(your computer username)\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3:
Create-A-Sim Cache: CasPartCache.package
Build/Buy Mode Cache: compositorCache.package
Mod and Custom Content Cache: scriptCache.package
New sims and skins Cache: simCompositorCache.package
socialcache.package
All files inside the folder "Thumbnails"

Okay, so i have reinstalled the update and the crack also deleted the package files.

Tried it out, and it still freezes, I''ve also deviced a way to keep it cool... still freezes and shuts off

if the info helps i downloaded the PETS on piratebay the one that says *FULL/FIXED*

Should i have used the other one?
