The Sims 3 1.63 update error

I have installed my base game and now I want to update it with the manual patch. I have downloaded the patch from here https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1870-can-t-update-the-sims-3-to-v163-fix-manual-patch directly and then again from MEGA, but none of it works. When I double click on it I get this error:
I used Google Chrome to download. I tried disabling my antivirus, but it didn't help. Without the patch I can't install any of the expansions. Am I doing something wrong?

Where did you get the base game from?
Have you updated your pc's Microsoft NET. Framework recently? If not, go to Control Panel >> System and Security >> Windows Update >> Check for updates and update your Windows. After that, run the manual patch again.

The base game is from Games4theworld torrent (all the expansions as well). I have just installed all the available updates and the same error still pops up.

I have re-installed the base game and cleared my registry. The update is now running.
