New forum. Empty New forum.

Post by Guest Sat 18 Jan 2014, 03:43

Hello everyone and thnx 4 everybody's hard work,
I wanted to ask the Admin if they have ever considered making a forum or whatever u call it just for when ur stuck in the game and stuff like that, so people can tell u what 2 do.
I find it kind of weird that The Sims 3 in-game problems and what I'm saying goes under the same category
I bet what I'm asking is a really hard thing to do but it's just a suggestion What he said. .
I hope I'm making sense! Very Happy

Hello,

From the standpoint of the average user such a sub-forum for "gameplay questions" could be indeed interesting.

Right now, these questions are usually posted in the Sims (3) in-game problems section. Many of the questions there though deal with things like crashing, lags and freezes. Actual gameplay questions are rather rare.

With the Sims (3) tips & tricks section, we have something similar: people can submit "tips & tricks", which will then be moved by a Sims Helper or Moderator to that section. But in this sub-forum, "normal users" cannot open topics themselves; and it's not really meant for "real" discussions. So people can submit their tips, but that's basically it.

From a Moderator's point of view, it's a bit more complex though. We would always have to think what topics belong in either the "in-game problems" or the "gameplay discussion" sections. And my bigger concern is that it would also be more confusing to the average user: they will start thinking about where to post and possibly post in the wrong forum. Which means that more topics have to be moved to their correct place by us. Wink

Other than that, the "demand" for such a forum doesn't seem to be that big, but then, this shouldn't necessarily be an obstacle. Smile

If I were to give my opinion though, I would not change the existing "structures", since this would only make matters more confusing, but let's see.

Hello there,

First of all, thank you for your suggestion!
Hmmm... sounds interesting. These are also often posted in the "Chit-chat" section.
I think "stuck in gameplay" (so not really a game problem) issues should also be posted here, right? (I can update the category title and subtitle) The category isn't used that much at the moment anyway.

Hi there,

Of course you are in that position, because this is the "Suggestions" section, where you're supposed to suggest stuff, right?
We try to avoid having too much categories, because browsing might get confusing when having too much categories.
