Uninstalling a world & its items. [SOLVED] Empty Uninstalling a world & its items. [SOLVED]

Post by Guest Fri 04 Apr 2014, 05:00

I have uninstalled the world (Roaring Heights) and it does not show up in-game--I deleted the WorldCache as well and everything that includes Roaring Heights. But then I open my launcher and saw ALL of the items from the world still on the "Installed Content". Everything from CAS, buildings, buy/build items. And I really want them gone except some few buy/build items. But when I do uninstall the items I don't need, it says "Error: cannot uninstall package with dependents."

Thanks!  Smile

Hello there,

The thing is, that deleting "World Cache" doesn't remove anything. I guess you wanted to say that you actually deleted the world in the Installed Worlds folder ? Smile  But not even this is enough: you would also have to delete the WHOLE DCCache folder for everything to be gone. However, by doing that, you'd basically have to re-install all your .sims3pack files - do you really want to go through that hassle ?

Also, it's not possible either to delete everything "except some few buy/build items". You either completely remove the world and all its contents or leave it. Smile

If you really want to start over with a "clean sheet", do what is described here:

https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t2208-sims3pack-installed-world-inaccessible-or-wont-install-fix

Again, keep in mind that this is a very radical solution (but in my eyes, the only real solution). After that you will have to re-install ALL your (other) .sims3packs too. I would actually suggest you leave these "remnant" items as they are. I mean unless these remnants cause any issues it's just not worth the hassle of going through a re-install of all .sims3packs. But that's up to you.

Hope this helps ! Smile

I actually fixed this already hours ago but our internet's on-off so I was not able to edit it. Thanks anyway!

Mod edit: well, good to hear that. Smile  Problem solved, topic closed.
