Updating from 1.23 to 1.24

I'm getting a update error: invalid file found. I patched up from 1.22 to 1.23 from Town Life Games4theworld. Then trying to use the sims 3 launcher to patch to 1.24 I'm getting the update error. Am I going to have to get a fresh install to work around this one? I've already used the fix's all problems download also.

Hello,
I'm not aware of a patch 1.23 for The Sims 3.
If you have problems with the launcher, you can also patch the game manually. Search for the patch using any searchengine and when you get to the point (in de fix) where you're asked to check the launcher for the latest update, run the patch you downloaded instead, then apply the crack.

Please let us know if this helps and don't hesitate to post if you run into anything else.

I have this problem too, i haven't yet installed a patch because really the update doesn't bother me much.

Hello,
Note that you can't use the crack from the fix if you don't patch the game. This crack is compatible with version 1.24 only.

hallo i hade the same problem but i find some large update 647MB on www . patches-scrolls . de and then i get lucky. to Lady EIDi the 1.23 update coms whith the town life stuff game.

I tried updating before installing the Town Life pack (so from 1.22) and kept getting the invalid file error. So then I figured I'd download the Town Life pack and give it another go (updating from 1.23)...same error. Tried downloading the smaller patch and updating manually from the website hayabusa mentioned, but it wasn't having it. Finally tried the big one and voila, success. Whew! *wipes brow* Thanks for the lead hayabusa. Smile

I'm not sure if there's an error with the other patches or whatnot, but the big one from patches-scrolls is a win. Spread the word that it may not be related to the way people are applying the Ultimate Fix. Smile

I'm at the same place but not having any luck. I don't see small and big patches though. Only patches intended for different versions of the base game?

digital download gave me an error right off the bat so I tried the US/retail, and I still got the same 'Invalid File' error toward the end of installation.

Oh I'm frustrated.

oh I see the file you must mean. The Sims 3 patch 1.24.3 (for all Regions)
