Roaring Heights keeps Crashing Empty Roaring Heights keeps Crashing

Post by Guest Sun 11 May 2014, 20:06

I have been searching the internet for answers to my problem but no real solutions found. My game keeps crashing after I play for about 10-15 min in Roaring Heights. It happens anywhere, Build/Buy mode, Live mode, CAS, just after around 10 min.  Crying or Very sad I have just installed Roaring Heights from g4tw and a few store updates and was looking forward to playing in the world but it keeps crashing to desktop, giving me no error message but "Sims 3 has stop working.." I already updated to 1.67.2 and re installed the ultimate fix and even store fix to see if it would work but still crashes. I have also cleared caches and removed my 1 mod (vintage typewriter for roaring heights)  and the problem still remains. Im playing on a Windows 7 8GB 67bit with a 5.9 game rating. I have all the EPs installed and worlds too.

Im not sure if its only the Roaring Heights world or a corrupted CC...even though I get everything from g4tw? I have a bunch of store CC and know it would take forever to test it out. I guess the only way to play my game again would be to re-install everything for sure if I had too as my last result. Have missed something??? I just don't know what to do anymore... please  Help

Hello,

I don't think the store items cause this, unless your computer is weak (which doesn't seem to be the case with you). Smile

I'm going to elaborate a bit more now, on the crash guide, since some of the descriptions are misleading. Now, have another  look at this other topic here and re-do all steps: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t857-the-sims-3-crashes-freezes-to-desktop-fix-updated-on-7-01-2014

If your Windows is a 64-bit version AND if your computer has 4 GB of RAM or more, then focus on step #3 in particular. Download the "4 GB patch" from here.

After downloading, double-click on that 4 GB patch and in the next prompt, choose the TS3W.exe in your base game location. Usually, that's C:\Program files(x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin. Wait for the message "executable successfully patched" and close the 4 GB patch.

Note that this method will not work if your Windows is a 32-bit version and/or if your computer has fewer  than 4 GB of RAM. After doing that, go on with the rest of the steps. These instructions should be pretty self-explanatory.

Now go to My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3 and delete all contents inside the Currentgame.sims3 folder. Also, in My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3, delete the following stuff:

-CASPartCache.package
-compositorCache.package
-scriptCache.package
-simCompositorCache.package
-socialCache.package
-plus the contents of the folders "WorldCaches" & "Thumbnails"

Re-start the game then and see if anything improved. You may even turn off your anti-virus program completely before playing The Sims 3.

Good luck !
