Lot garden missing when placed from bin Empty Lot garden missing when placed from bin

Yet another problem... which may not have a solution.
Made a perfect garden on a residential lot then saved lot, deleted it and replaced it (for testing purposes). Turns out all the garden plants poofed. Searching online found no solutions but someone said one of EA's patches removed the ability to save non-debug plants on lots.

Is there a way to preserve a planted garden so it can be shared?

I wonder if buydebug omni plants preserve what you fed them when saved and replaced... UPDATE: They do

Also if anyone happens to know... do contents of containers(WA chest, alchemy cabinet, bookcase, fridge, nectar racks) and displayed bugs get preserved when saving lots without a family in them(wondering if I offered my main house backup if people would get access to everything I'm hoarding/if I need to throw everything in inventory if I relocate)?
If no one knows I'll have to make a new custom lot and drop a few things in it to test myself.

I have too many questions XD

UPDATE: Moved out and copied my home lot, then placed the bin version on a different plot and got the following results:
Perfect garden was preserved THIS time (other lot it got wiped)
WA chest, fridge, replicator, nectar racks, bookcases, fish tanks, and fed omni plants retained their inventory
All placed items carried over (sculptures, paintings, career objects, bug terrariums)
Items displayed on alchemy cabinet were retained
Alchemy cabinet contents were deleted

Also made a buydebug garden on the lot that 'forgot' my plants, saved to bin, replaced and buydebug plants were still present.

So... now I'm REALLY confused as to why one garden (larger one) got saved and the other didn't.
Differences- Lot size: 64x64 vs 40x40 (Garden 15x15 vs 12x12)
Location: ground level vs over a 2 story barn
                 Containers: a ton* vs default
House contents: a lot vs no shelves, wall deco or sculptures
*some items are 100 stacks(fish/produce), others are on the way there... also have all books from store (and all written ones)

From my experience, I remember that the fresh food in the fridges gets saved (but prepared meals spoil), but I noticed that bugs and alchemy potions were..."gone". I wonder if it worked, would you put the bugs and potions into the sim's inventories, instead of leaving them in their shelves. But I haven't tested this feature in a while now.

Also, from a logical point of view, I don't see why buydebug plants would be saved and "normally planted" plants wouldn't, but then I guess that's just another glitch. Maybe a certain item in the lot causes that glitch ? That would be of course very difficult to find out...

My displayed bugs were preserved, just all the ones IN the alchemy cabinet got wiped. Alchemy cabinets apparently delete contents. Potions displayed on alchemy cabinets were safe though.
When I moved my lot I had a few prepped meals in the fridge... they not only came out of the fridge perfect after the lot was placed, they also refused to deteriorate(a..POSITIVE bug? that's a first XD)!

EDIT: When I copied my household (household only, NOT home lot) to move them due to another issue I was surprised to find that in addition to family and personal inventories the fridge inventory moved with them to the new town. In this instance I got the bad food you mentioned- my 'brand new' fridge was FULL of spoiled food(I had a Kelvin on my old home lot so had made one of everything and all variants for the three dishes that allow it [pancakes & cobbler get tagged for any fruit you use to make them, sushi is tagged for any fish you use to make it])

Thought I should mention I got the food effect you had referred to. I wonder if food saved in a lot is supposed to be maintained or it was a lucky bug? Obviously household inventory food doesn't make the trip XD (all that spoiled fish... ewwww)
NOTE TO SELF: Delete fridge, THEN save family to bin

I don't remember having spoiled fish or produce; and I always move my household with the lot too. Usually, in my case, only ready-to-eat and prepared meals spoil.

While I'm at it, here's a small trick my sister found out: when you keep one and the same fridge for too long a time with your sim household, the quality of the food stored in there will deteriorate quicker. The trick now is to go to buy-mode and COPY the fridge (not sure what this tool is called now, with which you can copy items).

Put the copied fridge somewhere else for now, and DELETE the old fridge. Then put the new fridge in the right place: and you have a fridge, that is "newly bought", and which has the food inside preserved, and NOT deleted.
