Installing expansions - help needed

Hi, hello!
First of all, this is my first time writing on this forum. I must say you all seem to be very friendly. So...
I've always loved playing sims but since the prizes are so high I own only the base of TS3. No extensions. I've been playing it a lot lately and it's getting kind of boring. Yeah, I know there's plenty of things to do even having only the base but still. I decided to look around for the expansions and I found a few topics about installing the original base with pirated expansions. I also noticed a lot of people mention THIS topic to follow. And here come my guestions.
I have installed the base and it's working perfectly fine. It is updated to 1.67.2.024002 and I did not instal it from origin. And it's registered. I tried to follow steps from the topic I mentioned above but since I have updated version, when I try to run the manual patch from step 2 a window with notification pops out. It's sth about the update being already instaled and do I want to instal it again. I wasn't sure what to do so I clicked 'no'. And everyone is always saying to follow all the steps. So what do I do?
Do I have to follow step 2 if I have original updated version of the base?

Ok so what you want to do... Install ALL the expansions that you want... then apply the ultimate fix. You place the files in the #Crack folder into the base game bin folder. And voila! If you already have the launcher updated to 1.67 then you can skip that step. While installing our expansions, ignore what the install instructions say because they are now outdated. Okay, thanks thanks for the help so far. 
I have few more questions. As I was installing the expansions I noticed for example in the Late Night installation guide that they recommend to install ambitions and few others before installing late night. What if I don't want the ambitions? And if I'll change my mind can I intall it later with no problem? Also will it be possible to install other expansions after installing the unltimate fix? Because I'm sure I'll want to try other expansions later.

Hi,
So long as you use the Ultimate Fix and Manual Patch, you do not need to install any certain expansions (aside from the ones needed for the Ultimate Fix to work). You also do not need to install any expansion packs in any given order.
If you, down the road, want to install an expansions pack, you'll need to back-up your saved data before hand, install the expansion and then *re-apply* both the Ultimate Fix and Manual Patch.
