Hi there!
Do you by any chance have Mods or CC installed? If you have them, you should remove them temporarily and check if the problem persists.
Also, take a look at this topic here:
https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t857-the-sims-3-crashes-freezes-to-desktop-fix-updated-on-7-01-2014
It's written for The Sims 3, but some of those can also be applied to The Sims 4. Specially the DEP and the 4 GB Patch. For the DEP, you only need to add TS4.exe that is in the Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Game\Bin folder.
About the 4GB Patch, you should make sure that the game is not running when you try to apply it. Maybe make sure in the Task Manager that there's no process related to The Sims 4 and try again.
Good luck, and please let us know how it goes!

Hi! Yes I made sure about the game were NOT running at all, I even closed origin and game booster but it stills not working. Besides, I leave out TS4.exe from the DEP already.
And yes, I also have mods and lots of CC. I'll check out if removing them would let me play.

That's very strange. As a last resort, you could try adding the 4GB Patch after restarting your computer, when you are completely sure that nothing else could be stopping the exe from opening.
And do let us know if removing the CC works. We could try and help you find the cause for that.

Hi there,
See this example screenshot too:
This is for Borderlands 2 (for which I got the same error when applying the 4GB patch), but the same goes for any .exe file. Right-click on your TS4.exe and go to "Properties". In the "General"-tab, see if - for some reason - the read-only option is marked, like in my screenshot. If it IS marked, UNMARK it again and confirm by clicking on "apply", then "OK".
See if the 4GB patch works then. Good luck !

Re: "The Sims 4 has stopped working" problem.
Almost the same problem, but when I open 4gb patch it tells me it worked, but when I try to open TS4.exe it appears an error "The dynamic library 'rld.dll' failed to initialize (E0)".
Also got the problem that the game crashes after I play, even for just a minute, and trying to get into one particular household. If I just stay in pause or in build/buy mode it works good.
I downloaded your last fix and I have a 64bit pc with 8gb RAM...

Hi there!
Please, create a new topic for your issue. As you can see, the problems aren't exactly the same, and each of you need a different solution. And each user should always be in a different topic.

Re: "The Sims 4 has stopped working" problem.
Hi again
So yesterday I removed all of my mods and CC and the game worked perfectly, no crashes at all!!!
So what's next? Because I really can't play without CC hahaha.
About the 4GB Patch, I'll check out later if TS4.exe is read-only
Thank you both guys!

Ok, then that means you have conflicting CC or mods.
Please give us a list of all CC and mods installed.

Re: "The Sims 4 has stopped working" problem.
As a very rough rule of thumb: you will generally be able to keep your CAS items (clothing, makeup, hair, etc.) over several future patch versions. CAS items normally don't cause issues.
For now, I would focus on your things that somehow...how should I explain it ? Things that modify in-game mechanisms; from your screenshot, I'd focus on the mods by Daveo88, Fogity, and this one by mgomez (relationshipdecay). But that's only a preliminary suggestion. So take those out first and see if there are any improvements. Good luck !

Re: "The Sims 4 has stopped working" problem.
I though so too, so I think I know which ones I should take out for now.
So, about the new error with the 4gbpatch, I saw that I have to reinstall the game in order to ts4.exe work again.

What new error ?
Whatever it is, what comes to my mind is that you should - for now - permanently disable all your anti-virus programs. Re-apply the latest Ultimate fix, and then re-apply the 4GB patch too (check again if the TS4.exe is on "read-only").
Wait a little while with un-installing the game. Keep us posted !

But I already reinstalled the game, working on the next steps
Have you also made sure to download + install the "Visual C++ 2013" ? Try downloading and installing the following files in the link:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784
Download and install all 3 files, so the...
vcredist_arm.exe
vcredist_x64.exe
vcredist_x86.exe
After you did that, re-try running the game. The 4GB patch should "work", if applied to the TS4.exe, without causing any other issues. Please keep us posted, yes !

Re: "The Sims 4 has stopped working" problem.
No, that's OK. These are older versions, which are also needed (for some older programs). You actually have already the 2013 version(s) installed...and they were added back in September, according to your screenshot; but yes, feel free to try the link in my previous post again ! This would be the first case though, in which the 4GB patch causes issues...I'll still need to look into that, next time I get to it (not today though, lol).
I'm off for now. Please do keep us posted, and good luck !

Re: "The Sims 4 has stopped working" problem.
Ok now I have installed the ultimate fix for the pools update, and reinstalled visual c++ but one of the 3 files is not running properly:
vcredist_arm.exe not running.
vcredist_x64.exe worked.
vcredist_x86.exe worked.
When try to run the _arm.exe one this shows up:
//update
I have been playing without any single mod or CC but it stills crashing when I'm using the gallery

Hello and sorry for the little bit late reply,
So you applied the DEP and the 4GB patch already ? And the game still crashes ? Does that happen all the time or is it more random ? Also, try playing around with some graphics settings in the options menu and see if that makes any difference. And try turning off the "laptop mode", if you have it on.
That's all I can suggest for now. Good luck again !
//EDIT
SimmerAbby wrote:Yes I applied the DEP, but the 4gb patch but when I run the game an error (that I already posted) shows up.
Still crashing all the time, its not random at all.
I have been playing with laptop mode off until yeterday. Today I tried to play and nothing change, crash is always there
And you made sure to keep your anti-virus software disabled ALL the time ? If not, turn everything off (again) and re-download and re-apply that latest Ultimate fix.
Also, what anti-virus software do you have actually ?
//EDIT
SimmerAbby wrote:Yes I applied the DEP and the 4gb patch but when I run the game an error (that I already posted) shows up. Since I reinstalled the game for tge ts4.exe to work, I havent applied the patch again.
Its crashing all the time, not ramdomly.
I have been playing with laptop mode off until yesterday and today tried to play buy crashed anyway
Yeah, sorry for the confusion. But you double-posted before, and you seemingly deleted one of your posts again, but at the same time, I deleted the other post, so both your messages were gone.
But I edited my previous reply; did you notice it already ? Look at my previous post (about the anti-virus) ! Also, I remember you posting several times in the past here, on The Sims 3, so I assume your computer is actually strong enough to run the game ?

Can you try un-installing Origin, and then re-booting the computer ? After that, re-install Origin, and then try the game/gallery again.
About the mods, make sure to read any available instructions and notes on the sites where you get the mods from. Mods must be compatible with your current patch level (1.2.16.10). Good luck again !

Re: "The Sims 4 has stopped working" problem.
Hello all !
I have downloaded the game there for a week. Now I installed it , and I also installed the latest updates by following everything literally.
When I start the game, I can create the character but when I want to start the game, the sims 4 stop working.
I put my drivers up to date, I quit avast, I removed the "online" mode, I run the game in administrator mode ... nothing works.
I just saw your solution with the mods in My Documents / Electronic Arts. I delete the folder Sims 4, but when I launch the game with TS4.exe, mods are recreated automatically. So they are automatically included in your installation? How can I do to not create them?
The problem perhaps does not come from?
Sorry for my english, I'm french.
Thank you !
