Sims 4 deluxe content? Empty Sims 4 deluxe content?

Post by Guest Fri 28 Nov 2014, 22:21

I already torrented the game and everything previously but decided to just buy the real version since it's on sale today would be easier to update.

Since I don't feel like spending a few extra  £s to buy the deluxe version I was wondering if you guys offer the content offered in the deluxe version but just that alone ? or should I just buy the deluxe version?

Sims 4 deluxe content? Empty Re: Sims 4 deluxe content?

Hi there! Smile

The DLC content that comes with the Digital Deluxe version of the game is tied to the Origin account linked to the game, so it's not possible to provide that content separately, I'm sorry to say. At least for the moment it's that way.

So no, you can't have a legit game with pirated DLC. It's your decision if you want to buy the game just for the more recent updates, as those updates normally come out not long after for the torrented game anyway. Wink

Might come across as harsh and blunt, but wouldn't it have been better to ask that question BEFORE buying the legit game ?

Yes, a legit game is "easier" to update, and you avoid the problems that come along with a pirated game (anti-virus/firewall issues). But other than that, the G4TW game has all DLC and registration bonus items. And the "Ultimate fix" for The Sims 4 is also updated whenever there is a new crack.

But yes, in the end, all of that is up to you.

Sims 4 deluxe content? Empty Re: Sims 4 deluxe content?

I hadn't bought the full game before I asked the question, I ended up buying the game a few hours later though and could have easily returned it (and still can).
I just feel more comfortable owning the base game then torrenting expansion packs if I don't have enough to buy them as I did with Sims 3

Also my Nortons kept trying to delete the files despite marking them all as safe so it was for the best, thanks for the replies though.

Hi again! Smile

Keep in mind that it's still unclear how the TS4's expansion packs will work. One thing is clear: The Sims 4 doesn't behave the same as The Sims 3. It's not so 'simple' (to the extent TS3 was) anymore. It's possible that the expansion packs (as with the DLC) will also be tied to your Origin account, meaning that having a legit base game and pirated expansion packs will be impossible.

But that's just speculation. We'll have to wait for the first expansion pack to be released to know for sure. Just be aware that there's a possibility that adding pirated expansion packs to your legit base game can't be done.

So, is there anything else we can help you with? Or can we close the topic?

OK, that's good to hear you haven't bought the game immediately. The point I was trying to get across is that generally, it's a good idea to gather as much information as possible before buying anything.

And you can bet that you cannot "mix" a legit base game with torrented expansions. The game evolves around Origin, and applying the Ultimate fix to a legit game results in an Origin prompt (to enter the ID and password of one's account). For me, this is a strong indicator that you won't be able to mix legit with pirated games, but...we yet have to see about that.
