Hello everyone,

Just a quick message to let you know that I'll probably upload a The Sims 3: Complete Collection torrent tomorrow.
It has been created a few days ago, but I didn't upload it yet, because I'd not be able to seed it in "one go".

Note that the download speed won't be stable until the official release, but it's a start, so you can already partially seed when it has been released.

Although I'm not going to download it myself (probably), it will certainly make things easier, in that there are no "outdated" install instructions anymore, unlike in the older EPs/SPs.

Does that one also include the latest manual superpatch (v1.67) ?

Thanks! Since I have a nice upload speed, I will reserve 10 Mbps for this puppy right now on my uTorrent (I am in Brazil right now, so I am not sure about the efficiency, but I am always happy to help)...

Indeed, while updating the Installation Guides, I found a lot of "weird" steps. Well, they are weird now, but back then they were OK. Razz

And yes, the manual patch version 1.67 is included. The "updated" instructions require people to install the base game, update to version 1.67 using that manual patch, and then install ANY expansion pack they like. (Including only one that was released before Generations)
And they can add new expansion packs whenever they like. This made it possible for me to remove all other patches that came with the separate expansion packs. (Because the Superpatcher will already update the game to the latest version.

Hi Admin, great upload by the way!
Although, I feel like you need to add PC onto the title avoid confusion with Mac users. Since lots of Mac users are asking questions / problems in the support topic. It will clarify that this download is not Mac supported.

Technically, from a Windows point-of-view, the data inside the expansion folders of the Complete Collection is the same as with the "separate" expansion downloads of G4TW.

I can't say I'm 100% sure on that one, but the main difference seems to be that in the Complete Collection, the obsolete cracks and patches were removed - thereby reducing the filesize significantly - compared to the "separate downloads". But yes, that assumption may be wrong, and the Admin can clarify that matter too.

About "Mac supported" downloads....remember when Sims 4 came out ? There were quite a number of users asking if G4TW's release also worked for Mac OS, which it doesn't of course. A lot of people don't realize that G4TW is primarily a PC uploader. There will always be people asking for Mac stuff; but I personally treat those questions like the occasional Mac-posts in the "Requests"-subforum: I just tell the Mac users that "maybe one day we will be able to focus more on Mac". But I don't say that this "one day" will probably not come anytime soon.

Hi there,

Technically they should work on Mac just fine, since they are exactly the same files as the separate expansion packs uploads. (Like Carlos mentioned)
I even think that the base game (!) should work on Mac OS this time, because it's not an .ISO file any more (Like it was with the original TS3 release), so it's just a bunch of files, just like the expansion packs.
Might be something interest to look into if one of the Mac Helpers has some spare time?

I know that, and so do a few others. But the majority of people don't, seemingly.

Partly thanks to EA, who didn't really communicate this (important fact) clearly enough. You really need to google or go to their website to find out that there is no Mac-compatible version yet. And partly also because many people in general are n00bish: for instance, some "older" simmers should know by now that traditionally, EA puts less priority on Mac-compatible stuff.

Really? it should work with Mac as well? Welp, I'm currently downloading it and attempt installing it on my macbook then. If I manage to make it work, then I can write up a mac guide for this file. I have spare time now, since I am on break. yay.

Edit: Tuesday. 4am - I completed the downloading and unzipping the files ( took like eternity haha ) . Converted the base game to .dmg, but struck a problem. It did not allow me to open the Installer (forgot what the message said). I shall try it again and update it more.

- 4:46am Manage to work! I used Stuffit Expander to unzip the file then convert it to the .dmg

-4:56am Installed! Added the Ultimate Patch . However, cannot upgrade at the launcher I got "You are playing a non-final, unauthorized copy of The Sims 3".

I cannot run the "TS3 update.exe" file because I'm using a mac, is there any possible way to bypass this? I'll try to figure out. I'm going to call it a night, and figure a way out of the "Online Authentication", if I cannot, then I believe we need to suggest mac users to download the mac sims 3 base as well. --- Trying to manually patch it.

UPDATE: 1PM : Manually patch work. Officially this file work on mac as well, should we add a guide step as well for this file specifically? Mainly installing the base? Oh, is it possible for me to upload the whole collection friendly user for mac? I will just create each file to the .dmg, so inexperience computer mac user will not have trouble creating the files, ect. I will compile all into 1 .rar file, and separate .dmg for each EP as well. Welp... I made the torrent now. haha

Though a The Sims 3 Complete Collection for Mac sounds nice too, since no new expansion packs are released any more. But keep in mind that most team members will not be able to assist with Mac issues, so you'll have to make sure that everything works, before we release it. (Assuming that you want to release it via the Games4theworld account?)

Haha I made a video tutorial in advance already too. xD It's working fine and dandy huehue.

But for the current sims 3 collection for the base game. MUST extract with Stuffit Expander

1. Create a .dmg file in Disk utility (there is already a guide how to on the Mac guide)
2. Apply manual patch
3. Done yay.

Yes, you can keep us updated here, I guess.

You mean the whole .RAR file must be extracted with Stuffit Expander, right? (That includes all the expansion packs too)
