Invisible Sims in CAS [SOLVED]

Hello all, and thanks for all your work.
I'm new to this forum and I come with a problem, sorry about that. WhatDidUJustCallMe?

I'm having that invisible Sims issue. I've just downloaded TS4 and the Ultimate Fix. The game is launching fine, but the Sims don't show up in CAS, like shown on that topic: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t18529-invisible-sim-in-cas-mode?highlight=invisible.

I've followed the instructions: added the exe to my anti-virus exceptions, even disabled the DEP and ran the 4gb patch (not sure I needed that though). I've checked that the files don't show up in quarantine in my Windows Defender as well.
I've re-downloaded the ultimate fix, re-run the vc thingies (both of them multiple times) and replaced the folders by those from the fix multiple times too.

And it still doesn't work, so I'm hoping you can give me some advice?

I also have the same problem and also did all of these steps.
Help someone? Haven't played yet at all, can't wait to start :$:

Similar situation, its rather frustrating. Someone needs to help us solve this fast!

Hello noctie and sorry for the late reply,

I've been away for a while, hence I couldn't answer any posts. Anyhow, from my experience, this is usually due to the Ultiamte fix not being applied correctly and/or anti-virus issues.

Are you sure you correctly applied the fix ? Did you really replace ALL of the old folders and files ?

And you shouold also add the download location for your internet browser stuff (Chrome/Firefox) to the "exclusions" of the anti-virus too, so that your downloads don't get cleaned up right after the download. And after you did that, please re-download the fix again, here.

Thank you for your reply, even late!
I gave up for a few days, but when I tried again (uninstall, redownload, reinstall), I noticed that it was indeed my anti-virus that was causing the issue. For some reason, every time I reinstall and every time I start up my computer, it seems to forget that TS4.exe is one of the exceptions and it blocks it again.
I did add all the folders mentioned in on of the posts on this forum (like the Downloads folder, Program Files, etc).

So this is really weird, but it works as long as I remember to check my anti-virus before playing.

So, you need to disable your antivirus before playing every time to stop this from occurring? What antivirus do you have, if I may ask?
