Testingcheats, not working? [SOLVED]

I just wanted to know if it was just me or whatever, but every time I type in the testingcheats {true/false}; {on/off} thing into the cheat bar, It always says "Unable to execute command". So is this a problem that anyone else has, or is it just me?

Hello and welcome to the forum,

The correct way to type the cheat in is this here:

testingcheats true

So without any brackets or the like. I myself haven't tested this recently, but I will, next time I get to it. By chance, do you have any mods for TS4 installed ?

But yeah, I actually know the correct way of typing it in, I was just listing variations of it to see if anyone else had luck input this code any which-way. But every time I try to enter it, all it says is "Unable to execute command". I swear I tried like at least 15 times in a row, using the alternate words like "on" and "yes", and not a one worked. WhatDidUJustCallMe?

Why would you try "alternative wordings" ? Smile

The cheat is ALWAYS testingcheats true. I just tried it again on my own game:

Testingcheats, not working? [SOLVED] Bjhto91t6dk

And it worked. I even deliberately mistyped it (at another point, which is not shown in the screenshot above), just to see if that error could come up when I mistype it, but no such error message on my end either.

Navigate to My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4 and find a file called localthumbcache.package. Delete the file and then re-start the game. See if anything improved this time. And again: you are sure you aren't using any mods for Sims 4 ?

Well I tried the alternate words cause I already typed the "true" one like a dozen times, thought it would've made a difference. lol But I deleted the cache, and it works now! Thanks so much for the help. ^ 3^ b

P.S. I don't have any mods for TS4, I actually just downloaded it this morning lol

It's OK.

Thanks for the feedback though - that was very important ! I've already seen some other cases where this cache file caused problems, so it might be a good idea to focus on this file, for in-game glitches of all sorts.

If you ever have any other problems or such, feel free to open a new thread. I will close this and mark it as "solved". Have fun with the game !
