Part time job problem. [SOLVED]

Hi! First of this is my first time writing anything at all in here, so I'm sorry if I placed this wrong or something (I'm pretty sure this is the right place though, but still) and I've tried searching both here and on google for this problem all day and couldn't find anything about it, so again, I'm sorry if there's already something about this anywhere. I usually spend a very long time trying to find a solution to my problems before I even think of asking.

Anyway, to my actual problem: my sim can't get a part time job. I'm not sure if it's anything I'm doing wrong or if it's a problem with the game itself. She's trying to get the job in the bookstore in sunset valley (though it happens to all the other part time jobs as well), but everytime she goes in to try and she just get thrown right out again and end up in the back of the building. This doesn't happen when she tries to apply for a full time job.

She's at level 10 business career, does she have to quit her job first before applying for part time?
It's around 11 pm (sunday night), is it maybe to late to try to apply and I have to wait until the morning?

I'm playing a challenge and I'm supposed to start my new job on monday, but I was a little late remembering it and that's why it became so late, so if I have to wait until morning I could probably deal with that, but if I don't have to I'd rather not.

I've tried deleting the bookstore and placing it agian (when I thought it was just a problem with the bookstore). I've also tried to reset the whole lot with nraas master controller. And I've done a factory reset. I've also tried getting her the job using master controller and the testingcheats but it doesn't work. When I'm using master controller to do it there's a script error on my sim. I had my teen sim get a part time job and it worked fine.

My game is fully updated and it works fine besides that. I have a few mods which are all fully updated as well. The mods I'm using are:
cmar enable teen elder birth
ij invisible floor with daylight
no more lunacy!
nraas debug enabler
nraas mastercontroller cheats
nraas overwatch
nraas saver
as well as the no intro and no build sparkles that comes when you download framework
all of them are fully updated and have been working just fine for weeks so I don't really see how they'd cause a problem like this, usually they just crash my game.

Has anyone else had the same issue? If so how did you fix it? If not do you know how to fix it? Or at least a few suggestions to what I could try? I'd appreciate all the help I can get.

Hello and welcome to the forum,

Sorry for the belated reply, but I didn't have much time recently to get back to posts here.

Try going to a drawer and choose "plan outfit". in the following CAS mode, go to the "Carreer"-tab and edit the outfit into anything else than the current one. Or see if it even allows you to edit the carrer outfit in that way. I think you can also clean up/edit those outfits with NRAAS mods, but I would have to look up how exactly to do that (it's been a while since I myself encountered a similar issue, last time).

Also, it's a good idea to take out mods, just to see if it makes a difference. In your case, I'd focus especially on these:

ij invisible floor with daylight
no more lunacy!

It didn't work. I think I might just start the whole thing from scratch again. I've had this problem for a few days now and I've tried anything I could think of except moving her into a new version of the town and nothing worked. It's been really frustrating. I don't want to move her into a new version of the time as I don't want to lose her progress, so starting over might be the best thing. That way I can also go back and do things a little bit differently as well. Hopefully I won't run into the same problem again.

Can you try re-applying the big 1.67 manual patch, and then also the Ultimate fix ? This means, repeat the steps from #2 to #5 here:

See if that improved anything in your game. If not, I would honestly give up on it. Smile

One thing you should remember for the future though: NEVER un-install the game(s), just because of minor glitches like that. I don't know why so many people do this, but un-installing and re-installing only very rarely fixes issues. And Windows OS is known for being "picky" on things like that...meaning that if you don't (un-)install properly, you will get even bigger problems.

Just get on with that, even if it's annoying.

I did that before I started the challenge I'm playing since I hadn't played in a while and wanted to make sure everything was fully updated before I did. It's kind of a habit to do it whenever I haven't been playing the game for a while.

I just started again, couldn't really be bothered to try and fix it anymore. It's okay though, as the creator of the challenge is editing the rules, so I couldn't get much further than I had even if I wanted to until he's done. I can at least play now and at the same time do the things I wished I did the last time.

And I never uninstal the game unless I absolutely have to, mostly just because I can't be bothered and because I know that it's easier to just create a new folder and that it basically does the same thing. I have the games on an external hard drive, so it never really causes any problem with my computer or anything like that either, so there's never a reason to uninstal it.

And it's sad to see those tons of glitches in the game (even if they are only 'minor'). But EA's not going to fix them anymore probably, since everything is now focussed on The Sims 4... Rolling Eyes

Yeah, I doubt they'd fix anything in the sims 3 now, which is kind of sad considering there's quite a few glitches that they should've fixed before focusing on sims 4. But it's at least possible to play the game, the glitches is just annoying, but not game breaking.

And I don't have any more questions at the moment, everything works as it should. I've been playing for several hours each day the last few days and it works fine! Haven't gotten to the point where I need to apply for the part time job, but hopefully it'll work fine this time. Just go ahead and close the thread!
