Error 531: Bakery Issue. [SOLVED]
Hi,
I noticed this issue while playing GTW. I couldn't save my game (whether Save or Save As) when I'm in the bakery. It says Error 531 and a bunch of numbers. I can save it when I travel to another lot/world, but I lose whatever progress I have made in my retail lot when I do that. From what I have read in forums for far, this was caused either by decorating pastries or removing the Out of Stock sign in the display (a corrupted object issue?). I didn't get this issue until yesterday though and I have played my first family without any issues even if I removed the Out of Stock signs in their store as well.
For now, the solution I have found is just to restock the items in the grocery instead of baking/cooking new pastries, but that increases outgoing costs for the store and lowers profits in turn. It also limits what one can display in the store because there's only so much space one can use for displays.
Any other possible solutions for this?
Thanks!

Hello again,
I can only give you a theoretical hint: you are NOT supposed to remove "essential" things in those lots, like the bakery, shop, doctor's office, etc. If you remove, for example, the X-Ray machine in a doctor's lot, you will be encountering problems. Not sure though about the "Out of Stock"-sign in your case.
And did you change anything specific before this glitch occurred ? Added mods maybe ?
Also, try deleting again the localthumbcache.package file in My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4, and see if that improves anything in your game. Other than that, it also looks like an in-game glitch that needs to be fixed in a future patch, but we'll see.

Re: Error 531: Bakery Issue. [SOLVED]
Hi,
I didn't install a new mod prior to playing that household.
Removing the Out of Stock sign is an in-game interaction. One can either choose to restock or remove the sign. I have found that restocking the item, putting them in that warming rack thing for the night and then selling them through that works. It's not a complete fix; rather a temporary solution. At least sims can now have better variety in the bakery.
It seems that EA has been informed of this issue. This appears to be an in-game glitch.
Thanks!
Mod edit: feel free to open a new thread anytime again. Have fun ! Problem solved, topic closed.
